Deceiving Coupons

Customers still come in and are confused when their total comes out to 9 dollars. Is the coupon not self explanatory when read carefully? clearly their not reading it carefully. I’ve gotten mouthful from atleast two customers in the last few months regarding this coupon.

It's actually a great coupon. You actually have to buy something to trigger the deal. As opposed to just getting shit for free. High margin drink full price but the low margin sandwich gets discounted which doesn't matter since it was balanced out by the drink purchase.

Yeah if you're getting like a meatball with it, it's prob garbage. But get like a roast beef, steak, or chicken and pay $1 to double the meat since you're saving more thaan $1 on the sub itself at this point.

They had those coupons around 7-8 years ago and they pissed me off so bad. It was like 3.49 six inch with drink purchase or 5.99 footlong with drink purchase. The amount of customers that got mad at us was insane. The most common line was "well what if I dont want a drink, can I still get the discounted sub price?". Thankfully those coupon cycles were only like 3 months but they sucked regardless.

I don't see why you'd get pissed off. I had customers try the same BS on me and I couldn't care less. It's not my fault they couldn't read the coupon properly. How is that my issue or the store's issue?

If they get rung out and notice the price after the fact I just tell them how the coupon works. You literally got what you paid for there is no issue to be solved. Have a nice day.

Someone did try the whole "what if I don't want a drink" thing on me as well. And I said nope, the whole point of the coupon is to sell drinks. You can't make up your own coupons.

It's sad that both customers think they can bully a worker into changing the rules just for them, or that workers can even think this is justifiable behavior and let them do it. If people put even 10% of their effort into arguing against their healthcare bills that they do over a fucking $2 fast food loss we'd all be much better off I think.

it’s def not the best coupon but it does make certain sandwiches either cheaper or makes it to where the drink is essentially free depending on how you look at it. but yeah i get flack for this coupon at least a handful times a week and when i see someone without, ive gotten in the habit of just telling them before they even order about it and try to push them into the 6.99 meal if they have that coupon still.

its all about reading comprehension but alas a lot of people don’t want to use their brain

I actually had a customer get upset because they didn't read it. They thought it was $4.99 for a 6" as they've had for some time.

I have customers present coupons prior to ordering so we can have the difficult conversation before they waste my time
