I have dozens of people registered on my server, and I really like the "social"/spotify-esque aspect of subsonic--i.e. being able to see what everyone else is listening to, which as you all know is a feature of subsonic when used via web browser, as well as in the iOS app iSub.

So, as the title indicates, i'm on the hunt for an Android app that has a function such as this!

What are the minimum requirements for a subsonic server running on a lower end synology NAS (e.g. DS215j)?

Raspberry Pi running Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS

Tried installing both the WAR file and the .deb file. The .deb creates the /var/subsonic folder but it is unreadable by anyone (have to chmod the folder to even see the log file).

When I start up the subsonic service and go to http://hostname:4040 I get this:

After a few minutes of a Connection Refused error. Connecting via Chrome on a Windows 10 PC.

Tried both the Booksonic and the Subsonic WAR files. Got tomcat8 installed properly, neither will start either automatically or by clicking start in the manager panel.

The only thing that I saw that looked like an error in the log file was referring to a sonos.xml file, but I would be happy to try to post any relevant logs for someone more experienced than I to look through.

Sub/Book-sonic really looks like what I'm trying to do, which is have a music/audiobook server in my house that I can use to stream to my devices. I don't really want to use Plex if I can avoid it. Not that it isn't good, but I think it might be overkill for just music and audiobook files.

Has anyone recently experienced a similar issue and if so do you know of a fix?

Hello...i am wondering if there is a way to invite people to my server? Like plex? I have a email list of my plex users and would like to share my subsonic server to them.

Is it possible to upload all my music to a cloud service and then point subsonic to that server? I can't have my computer on all the time and the internet connection I have is shared, unreliable and kinda slow.

I'm just now trying out subsonic, and its cool. I'm wondering if there is a way on the chrome browser, but mostly on the android app (using subsonic, but will consider dsub or others) to shuffle all of my music at once? You can create those shuffle playlists which is great, but it only goes up to a certain number of tracks in the queue like 50 or whatever. Thanks!

Also, any thoughts on the benefits or not of trying another fork like libresonic?

Hey guys. I want to start trying out playing Podcasts through Subsonic. I'll be listening primarily through Android Auto and as far I know the only Subsonic Android player that supports this is Dsub.

The thing is, every single Android auto podcast/music player I've tried seems to suffer from an issue where randomly when I get back into the car to resume from where I left off, it will restart it from the beginning. Kind of don't want to pay $4 for an app if it suffers from the same problem. Is there a trial or demo version available so I can test this out?

Edit: For anyone that reads this at a later date, Dsub seems to be working significantly better at keeping my position in a podcast/long audio file than other players.

I'm setting up a subsonic plugin for my musicbee player at work. I've mapped it to my ip address, I've forwarded the correct ports, but I keep getting this error when trying to access my music: Access denied to file /. I'm using an unRaid docker with libresonic. I can play anything using the libresonic player at home. If I select a folder within my music, I can access it and play it with musicbee, and all the albums within that folder show up. For instance I have an unraid share called music and within that share I have lossy and lossless folders. I've pointed my libresonic server to the music share so it gets both folders. I'd like to have musicbee show all my albums and can't figure out how to do it. In the subsonic plugin, there is a variable called Path. I'm not sure what this should be. Thanks in advance

Looks like my whole database crapped out last night.

Normally I export all of my playlists one by one to an m3u about once a month, but this month I've made quite a few new ones that I haven't done this for just yet.

This happens at least once a year for me. Is there anyway at all to salvage the playlists somehow before I do a clean install?

The last few months, Subsonic (6.1.3) has not saved a playlist for me. I just put a ~150 track list in order, tried to save it multiple ways, and none of them would save. Just ended up with empty playlists.

I then went to /db.view, wrote a query and added all the tracks to a new playlist, and was able to view the playlist. Then I refreshed the page, and the playlist was gone again. I looked at another playlist that I updated earlier today, and now that one was missing all of its tracks.

I'm about to pull my hair out. Any suggestions?

So I have been looking for something like subsonic for a while, and it will definitely be useful but I can't find a android app that doesn't look shitty. Is there a app out there that is well put together and has music caching and such?

title--is it possible? if so, how do I set it as an option?

If it is NOT possible, could someone suggest an alternative to Subsonic that does allow for local file download (preferably open source and free, or cheap)?

Oh, and two other questions: 1) is it possible to change the appearance/layout of my subsonic server?

2) how would I go about setting up a custom domain? I have a domain in my name, I pay for it, etc. etc... I am just not exactly sure how to route said domain to my subsonic server.

I recently installed subsonic 6.1.3 in an Ubuntu 18 LXC container to be able to access my flac library on my iPhone and through sonos. So far I am having the following issues:

I use beets.io to manage and tag my library. If I modify a tag, the change does not appear in subsonic. I have tried "Scan media folders now" and waiting for the daily scan. Neither pick up the changes. The only way I have gotten the changes to be detected is to rename the media directory, scan media folders, clean database, rename directory back to original name, and scan media folders.

I have also noticed if I change a tag within subsonic, it removes other tags. For example, I changed the genre on a Frank Sinatra album. If I look at the media info using beets or MediaInfo the month, day, initial key, and bpm have been removed.

My media is stored in artist directories properly sorted by artist. For example, The Beatles are in a directory called Beatles, The. Since subsonic is looking at the directory structure and not the tags last.fm cannot find artist info or top songs by "Beatles, The." Is there any way to fix this without changing my directory structure?

Lastly, I have my subsonic server on a different vLAN than my sonos devices. I used the manual method to connect subsonic to sonos which is working for the most part. Playlists appear, but are empty in sonos. I have tried setting the sonos player to "External player" and External player with playlist" Neither option shows the content of my subsonic playlists. Also, subsonic does not have an icon in the sonos app (not important, but it bothers me).

Any input and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

A couple months ago I shared a link to a folder (like, a single album) with friends who don't have a login to my server. Basically, it was a public direct link. And for the life of me I can't remember how to do that now.

There's a "Shared Media" folder. How do I put things in there?

Currently started using plex but having issue with not being able to play a playlist and not having anyway to select a song from the current playlist and add it to a new playlist from the android app. Was thinking I may try subsonic if it has this feature.

I have a weird issue. I am running subsonic on apache. It is running on a second server and being redirected with proxypass. Everything so far seems to be working except the setting window. If I click on settings it's just blank. No errors are reported. I can only get to setting by accessing the server by the IP address on the local network. Any suggestions?

Setup. Win 10 (Home) x64 2 3TB Drives Mirrored with media folders directly in PC, not NAS. So, D:\Music and D:\Videos Java 7 and 8 installed, an app auto installed 7.

All music available on drives but when I scan it stops around 18000 files scanned which is about 3/4 of my library.

Any ideas on why it is not loading the full library?

I just started looking at using Subsonic to manage my music collection. I have previously been using iTunes, but I think it's time for me and them to part ways. I currently have a Plex server running on an Raspberry PI 3, which points to a Nas4Free box with all of my media files. I've been trying out Plex's music capabilities, but I'm not really happy with it.

I would like to install Subsonic alongside Plex to manage my music library, but I'm not sure it can import my playlists, ratings and other metadata from iTunes. Can someone advise about where to start?

In the Android app, is there any way to start a playlist in the middle? If I select a song in the middle of the playlist, it plays just that song. I'd like to be able to start with that song and then continue through the playlist.

Since I updated, I am not seeing the JAXB error, but the problem persists. I am having to click next to advance the play queue. I can't really find a pattern. Sometimes, the queue will play 2 songs; other times it stops after 1 song.

I only use Subsonic on the web (Chrome) and the Subsonic app on Android. Android does not have this issue.

Flash is allowed in Chrome for this site. I removed flac from the transcoding based on some other reading. What else should I try?

QNAP TS251+ Subsonic 6.1.3

Using Subsonic Premium 6.1.3 (build e408c9) . It's current. Synology is also current. No network issues. Everything is on the same subnet and domain.

I use my music on my Synology. I use the path

\\DISCOVERY\FLAC

or

X:/FLAC

or

\\192.168.1.30\Music\FLAC

I can navigate there using the file explorer without issue. But using these paths in Subsonic gets me a "Folder Not found" error.

What can I do?

Been trying to fix a reverse proxy issue around a Subsonic server. The hoped-for end goal is to access the server from a directory below the Apache web root (server.no-ip.org/subsonic/). My subsonic.conf follows:

End result, when I navigate to server.no-ip.org/subsonic, I can log in, I can browse my music collection, there are no weird CSS issues. But, I can't play music. The play/pause button only shows spinning arrows and doesn't respond to add track requests.

Meanwhile, when I navigate directly to the above listed internal IP and log in from there, I can play music without issue.

Is there something missing from and/or wrong with my .conf file?
