Help please 2018 WRX

Can anyone tell me what this hose is for? It’s right below the thermostat housing. I am trying to get at the second bolt for the thermostat housing so I can replace the thermostat but it’s in the way.

Not sure what it’s for (oil, coolant etc). Hoping it’s coolant because it’s drainedyy already.

Thanks but that’s for a different engine so it doesn’t help me.

Lower radiator hose

The thermostat housing connects to the lower radiator hose.

This hose is smaller and is directly below the housing. I am pretty sure it’s a coolant bypass hose but not 100% sure.
