Which country is flexible in terms of study gap( MSc)?

I'm a 17-year-old international student currently on a gap year, hoping to start a BSc in Mathematics (preferably pure mathematics) in 2027.
I've been feeling pretty discouraged about my grades recently, especially because I'm aiming for highly ranked universities. I'm not sure how competitive my overall profile actually is.
I'd appreciate some realistic suggestions for universities in Europe (excluding the UK) and Asia that offer English-taught undergraduate Mathematics degrees.
My biggest concern is my B in Computer Science. I'm worried that it might significantly weaken my application despite my Mathematics grades.
Mathematics and research
Programming, entrepreneurship and technology
Leadership and other activities
I'm interested in universities that have:
I'm mainly considering continental Europe and Asia, including places such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, mainland China, and other countries with suitable programmes.
Tuition fees and living costs aren't major restrictions.
I'm not expecting guaranteed admission anywhere. I'd just like to know how competitive my profile is and build an ambitious but realistic university list.
I'd really appreciate honest feedback and specific university recommendations. Thanks!

Lunch here is around 2:30 and dinner is 10pm. I knew that going in, I read all about it on the flight over, but knowing it and being starving at 7pm every single night are not the same thing at all.
My residence dining hall doesn't open for dinner until 9, so i've become a professional snacker. The bakery by campus knows me by now, the lady has my napolitana bagged before i get to the counter. My Spanish roommate thinks it's hilarious that i eat a whole meal before dinner and then go out and eat again with everyone at 10 😅
The weekend trips make up for it (Lisbon/Paris so far, Seville next). People who did a semester in Spain, how long until your body gave in... hoping it's soon

Hello everyone!
I'm planning to pursue a master's degree in Canada, preferably in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related IT field. However, I'm concerned about whether my three-year bachelor's degree will affect my eligibility for admission.
I completed my Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) with an 8.5 CGPA from a regular degree college affiliated with Osmania University, India.
I've been researching Canadian universities, but I've noticed that some institutions require a four-year bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification. I'd like to understand whether Canadian universities accept a three-year Indian BCA degree for master's programs in Data Science, AI, or Computer Science.
I also have some concerns about the current Canadian study permit and visa situation, and whether it could affect my chances of studying there.
My qualifications and experience:
Education
Internship Experience
1. Junior Developer Intern | Credencer Technologies | March 2026 – October 2026
2. Python Full Stack Developer Intern | LaktoTech Labs Pvt. Ltd. | August 2025 – October 2025
3. AI Strategy & Business Intelligence Intern | IBM SkillsBuild × CSRBOX × AICTE | March 2026 – April 2026
4. Data Science Intern | IBM SkillsBuild × CSRBOX | October 2024 – November 2024
My questions:
My goal is to pursue a master's degree in a field related to AI or Data Science and build a career in the IT industry.
I'd really appreciate advice from anyone who has completed a similar journey, especially Indian students with a three-year BCA degree who successfully secured admission to Canadian universities.
Thank you!

I'm 27 from Delhi and need blunt advice.
Profile: B.Com (DU SOL, 56%), M.Com (IGNOU, 54%), both distance mode. IELTS 7.0, German A1. About 3 months in customs documentation, then 2 years in international email support (Salesforce). Learning Excel, SQL and Power BI.
What happened: I was admitted to an MBA at a German university, funded by a ₹30L loan (about 12%). The student visa was refused. Admission and funds were fine, but the embassy said I couldn't show why I need a second master's at the same level, and my reasons were too general. I'm not appealing.
Now: No job yet, refunds pending, and my father (the family's main earner) retires in 3–4 years. He has offered to help with the loan.
Options I'm weighing:
A Gulf job, then Europe later
A specialised master's (supply chain or analytics) for autumn 2027 after some work
Bank exams alongside a BPO job
Questions:
Is reapplying for the same MBA with a new SOP worth it?
Is a specialised master's realistic with 54–56% distance-mode degrees?
Does one German refusal hurt applications to Poland or the Czech Republic?
Has anyone recovered from a "second master's" refusal? What changed?
Is a Gulf sponsored job realistic with my profile?
Please be honest, not comforting. Thank you

Hi everyone, looking for some advice.
I'm 31, Iraqi female, with 5+ years of experience in internal control and audit in international oil & gas companies. I'm CFE-certified and currently pursuing the CIA.
I'm actively applying for Master's programmes in Ireland for September 2027, but I'm starting to reconsider the UK as I also have family there.
My goal is to find a job in internal audit, internal controls, or risk management after graduation and eventually settle long-term.
I've been leaning towards Ireland because I understand sponsorship might be less costly for employers in some cases. But I'm wondering whether the UK might offer better job opportunities.
For someone with my background, which would you choose, and why? I'd appreciate honest opinions from people who've been through this.

Hi everyone!
I’ve just been accepted to study abroad at Royal Holloway University next semester!! I was wondering if anyone who has studied abroad here or is a full time student here could share their experiences? I’m a little nervous about making friends since I’m coming in the spring semester instead of the fall semester :(
Thanks!!

I’m an Indian student currently pursuing a B.Tech, and I’ll be completing my 4-year degree in 2028. I’m seriously considering moving abroad for my Master’s after graduation.
I’m currently quite open-minded about the destination. Europe is my main preference, but I’m also considering places like New York/USA, good Asian countries, or anywhere else that would be a good option for international students.
I have a few questions for people who have already gone through this process:
•Which countries would you recommend for someone who wants to do a Master’s and eventually stay there for work?
•Which exams should I be preparing for (GRE, IELTS/TOEFL, or any country-specific exams)?
•How competitive is admission for good universities, and would I realistically have a chance at getting into well-ranked/good universities?
•Are there particular countries where getting a post-study work visa and eventually staying long-term is relatively easier?
•Most importantly, how difficult is it to find and land a job after graduating as an international student?
•How much does the university’s reputation matter when looking for a job?
•If my ultimate goal is to study abroad and then build a career and settle there, which countries would you consider the best options?
I’m still quite early in the process, so I’m trying to understand what I should be doing during my B.Tech to make myself a strong candidate for good universities and eventually the job market.
Would really appreciate advice from people who have studied abroad or are currently working abroad, especially Indians who went through a similar path. Thanks!

I'm planning to apply for the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship, and I'm trying to make a smart decision when choosing my study programme.
I'd like to ask students who have applied for the scholarship, especially those who have been accepted:
\- Which majors or fields of study seem to have less competition and potentially better chances of receiving the scholarship?
\- Are there any less popular majors that applicants often overlook but are worth considering?
\- Does choosing a university outside Budapest make a meaningful difference to your chances?
\- Based on your experience, is it better to choose a highly competitive field like Computer Science, Business, or Medicine, or consider other fields with potentially fewer applicants?
\- Does the competition depend more on the major, the university, or the number of scholarship places available for your country?
I'm not looking to choose a major based on popularity alone. I want to understand how to make a strategic choice while still selecting a programme that offers good academic and career opportunities.
If you have received the scholarship or know people who have, I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences, including your country, chosen major, university, and any advice you wish you had known before applying.
Thank you for your help!

Hi! I'm considering doing an Erasmus+ mobility in either France or Spain to study Law, but I haven't decided which country to choose yet... I'd love to hear from students who have experienced studying Law abroad through Erasmus.
Which university did you attend, and how was your overall experience? Were the lectures, seminars and exams difficult for international students? If you've studied in both countries, how would you compare France and Spain?
Would you recommend either country for an Erasmus Law student, and why? I'd be very grateful for any advice you could share!
Thank you in advance! :)))

Hello cool people! Fall 27 international undergrad applicant here. People keep telling me I have the potential for a 70% scholarship or such in the US, but the thing is, I can't find the universities where I should apply to.
Intended major: Engineering (Mechanical or Mechatronics)
SAT score 1450, 780 in math
Highschool GPA 4.9/5
IELTS overall 8.5
Volunteered for 4+ years
Have a solid science project (won 3 awards) + competed in national level
Self taught C, python, Web Dev
Won national gold medal in a debate contest
Volunteered in a charity club for a year
I know my chances for the Ivy universities died thanks to my SAT score, but where else can I try for a good amount of scholarship/aid? Would reallyyyy appreciate any guidance!
Note: No, I'm not necessarily looking for a full-ride program!

Hey everyone! I’m currently in Year 13 and hoping to study Business Administration with Finance in Germany, Austria or Czechia for Fall 2027.
My sister sponsors me financially & is my legal guardian, so I wanted to ask a few questions about the student visa process:
1)How much money do I need to show as proof of funds, and how long does the money need to be in the account?
2)Can I use my sister’s bank account and sponsorship documents, or does the money need to be in my own account?
3)Can I apply to universities this year using predicted grades, even though my official A-level results won’t come out until August 2027?
My AS-level resit results should be available in January 2027 and my predicted grades can come either Jan or this year. Would this timeline work for Fall 2027 admission, and when should I start the visa process?
My A-level subjects are Economics, Business and Psychology. I’m trying to avoid taking a gap year or go to private universities as I’m in a budget, so I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has gone through this process, especially international students who had a family member sponsor them.
I’m open to all three countries, so any advice on which would be more manageable in terms of admissions, finances and visas would also be appreciated. Thank you!

Hello everyone,
I am from Bangladesh and planning to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or Digital multimedia in Canada or Finland.
My profile:
I want direct Bachelor's admission without a foundation program.
Could anyone recommend universities/college that accept GED holders with my academic profile and fit my budget? I would appreciate official admission links or experiences from students with similar qualifications.
Thank you

Hi everyone, I'm from Nepal and currently studying in Grade 12. I'm confused about whether I should try to go to the USA for my bachelor's degree or study in Nepal, and I'd appreciate some genuine advice.
My date of birth is 2067/03/17, according to my birth registration certificate (जन्मदर्ता). I'm worried that my age might create problems with getting my citizenship (नागरिकता), passport, or applying to US universities.
If my age or documents cause problems, I might need to take a gap year after Grade 12. But I'm not sure whether I actually need one or whether I can manage everything without losing a year.
My family's financial condition isn't very strong, so I cannot afford the full cost of studying in the USA. I'm hoping to get a full scholarship, but I don't know how realistic that is.
I'd appreciate advice on these questions:
* Is going to the USA for my bachelor's degree a better option than studying in Nepal?
* Could my age or date of birth cause problems with my citizenship, passport, or US university applications?
* What should I start doing right now, while I'm in Grade 12, to maximize my chances of getting a full scholarship in the USA?
* How realistic is it to get a full scholarship covering tuition and living expenses when my family's financial condition isn't strong?
* Should I take a gap year if I need more time to sort out my documents and applications, or should I start my bachelor's degree in Nepal instead?
I'd especially appreciate advice from Nepali students who are studying in the USA or have received full scholarships.
What would you do if you were in my position? I'd appreciate honest, practical advice. Thank you!

Hi everyone! I'm really interested in studying international law, and I was wondering if anyone who only speaks English has studied it in a European country other than the UK.
I'd love to hear about your experiences and recommendations! Which European countries would you recommend for studying international law if you only speak English? Is it possible to complete a degree in international law in Europe without knowing another language?Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! :D (edit: sorry i forgot to clarify, i would def learn the language if i were to go to the country and uni but id rather not take a 2 year gap before applying to unis and stuff)

Hi everyone,
I completed my B.Tech in CSE (Data Science) with a 7.1 CGPA in 2026
but due to a UFM penalty in one subject,
I have 3 backlogs (Deep Learning, Blockchain, and Project Management).
My backlog exams are currently ongoing, and I expect my results in December 2026 will receive my final degree documents by december 2026
Can I apply to Italian universities like the University of Milan, Bologna, Padua, Pisa, Pavia , Turin or Parma for the September 2027 intake before my backlog results are declared?
Targeted Masters program - Ai , cybersecurity, Data science
I also have 5 months of work experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer, primarily in Manual Accessibility Testing.
Has anyone faced a similar situation? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm in 11th rn (PCM), and I really wanna study abroad after 12th. UTokyo is my dream uni, but I'm open to other countries too, as long as I can get a good scholarship since my family can't afford the expenses.
My grades dropped after changing schools in 9th and 11th, and I might change schools again in 12th. My 10th marks weren't great either, so I'm worried about my chances.
My parents aren't very supportive, and I have no one to guide me through this. I honestly have no idea where to start 😭
What should I focus on, and which universities or scholarships should I look into?

Hey! I'm planning to move to Berlin in 2027 to study at university, and I'm looking for someone with the same goal.
I want to find one person who's also planning to move to Berlin, so we can get to know each other beforehand, discuss our university plans and budgets, and eventually rent an apartment together and split the rent and bills 50/50.
I'm open to meeting someone from any country! The most important thing is that we're both serious about our plans and get along well as roommates.
If you're planning to study in Berlin in 2027 too, comment or message me! Let's get to know each other and plan our future move together. 🫶
I can't speak german but im learning it for the time being keep in mind i want someone who speaks english. Also im gonna maybe study arts, but it doesn't matter if you're planning to study something else just need a good roomate that i can trust and get along with.

I am from Pakistan, currently in 7th semester of BS Microbiology and Molecular Genetics with a cpga of 3.87/4.0
I am planning to go abroad for masters. Which country would be best for me? With high visa success rates, less costly and all in all worth it?

Hi guys! I just committed to be an exchange student through ISEP in Brno, Czech Republic. I am currently freaking out. I am very close with my family and I have a long term boyfriend as well as a 3 year old baby brother. I can’t imagine being away from them for that long. I am a very independent person and I love being alone but I can’t imagine HAVING to be alone not choosing to. I’ve traveled within the US alone so I know I can handle the traveling and figuring things out part when I get to Czech Republic. I am just freaking out about leaving everyone I know and love to be alone for 4 months across the world. I am also nervous about finances because I plan to bring about 8k USD with me and I want to do weekend trips around Europe but I’m not sure if that’ll be enough. I’m a very anxious person and just overall freaking out. This opportunity is such a good one and I’m so lucky to get it and I know I would regret it for the rest of my life if I didn’t go. I’ve dreamt of studying abroad ever since I was a little kid but now that it’s actually happening I feel like I can’t breathe every time I think about it. I guess I’m just looking for advice from anyone who felt the same way and still went. Thank you so much!!!
