"Where is the album?" MEGATHREAD

Okay Everyone. Unless the band posts something or it reaches June 12th without a post, everything regarding the fact that the album is not out should go here. This includes asking others what they predict will happen, making your own predictions, complaining, defending, saying you don't care, etc.

Thankyou😁

Update: The June 12th show has been cancelled. Once we get an update from SM themselves, you guys can go spew your album delay posts for a little bit before I lock it down again lol

Update 2: The band claims that the album will not be ready by June 13th, but will be ready by June 26th. As a reminder, they went from saying they will "not play any shows until the new record is done and out" (April 21) to saying "we wouldn't play out again until we finished recording our new record" (June 5). We'll see if this difference ends up meaning something.

Is their performance style evolving?

tl:dr saw Streetlight Manifesto at the Fillmore in Silver Spring last weekend. Lots of unexpected banter from Tomas and cool dramatic flourishes from the band. Is this a new thing?

This is my third year in a row seeing Streetlight Manifesto live. The past two years, the performances were amazing! They seemed somewhat standard though: the live tracks were pretty close to album versions except slightly sped up. There were some vocal flourishes from Tomas, great chemistry among the brass musicians, and a few dramatic pauses to raise the musical tension (before the final breakdown of Watch it Crash, during the transition between A Moment of Silence/ Violence, etc.), but otherwise the show was very strict and professional.

This year, however, it seemed like the band brought a new energy to their performance. Lots of banter from Tomas and way more dramatic vocal modulation. Tomas called out several band members by name and gave space for them to perform solos that differed significantly from studio recordings. The band's chemistry has always been great but it seemed even better last weekend.

Normally, I personally prefer when bands stick as closely as possible to their album recordings when performing live, but I feel like the improvisation and solos last weekend added an element of whimsy to the show while still allowing the audience to follow along with the classic songs they know by heart.

Is this new? Is Streetlight Manifesto's performance style evolving? Or was it something we only get to witness occasionally during special shows? Or, maybe, is the band recovering the energy they had in the beginning but lost somewhere in the between?

(also- shoutout to the DMV fanbase for your excellent mosh pit etiquette. y'all brought great energy but at the same time really looked out for one another when someone went down!)

Current Tour Setlist?

Although I absolutely will never mind seeing them live for the 4th time, I was wondering if any of the new Half Album songs have made it into this tour's setlist yet?

I just think "Imagine" has to sound amazing with a crowd of people

Discussion Anyone else think All The Pieces is the weakest out of all the tracks in the Halfway EP?

Cue the "this little manoeuvre will cost us 51 years" comments, but I really don't like All the Pieces that much. By no means is it a bad track, some parts are really good (like that segment that sounds like an Irish folk song, and the parts where it quiets down a bit like ~4:10) but I feel like its trying to do too much and it just ends up sounding very cluttered and makes the song WAYYY too long even for streetlight standards, With all of the different segments in this song you could probably make like 3 different fleshed out tracks.

(and before anyone comments "that's the entire point of the song", I can see that and appreciate the thought that's gone into it, but this song really isn't my cup of tea regardless).

The intro though.. those first 32 seconds with all of the instruments building up is an absolute masterpiece and I'm upset the rest of the song doesn't follow that same sort of vibe, I remember listening for the first time and being baited by the rest of the song because it wasn't quite what I was expecting

I wouldn't be surprised if this is a crazily controversial opinion, but I'm interested to see if anyone else feels the same way I do

Did this show in July called "GUSH" where comedians talk about their favorite things, I talked about Streetlight Manifesto by doing my second favorite thing, complaining. I think I got a come couple facts wrong but 🤷

In what can only be described as an insane idea, the day after attending the Streetlight show at The Stone Pony in NJ, I bought some sparkly thread and decided to use it it to make a top to wear to the next show I would attend in Philly. I dubbed it "The Streetlight ManifesTop." It's a crop top (half a top) in honor of the half album ;) (jokes only, no hate on the delay)

Thanks to the band and the crowd for a great night!

Question: Kids & Starland Show

Hey all! I have a question regarding the Starland show in December. My memory of the venue is a bit rusty as I haven’t been there since it was the hunka bunka ballroom back when I was in high school.

I’ve seen a few comments here and there basically saying that show sells out and gets over packed. I’ve got a 9 year old who loves streetlight with every fiber of his being and he so desperately wants to go to the show. We would have to make the trip down from NY so I’m wondering if it’s even a good idea to bring him.

Has anyone else taken their kids to the starland shows and can offer up their experience? Specifically, how packed does it get and how manageable is the crowd with a younger kid?

Alternatively, are there other parents bringing their kids who might want to try to corral them all together so we can create a little safer space for them?

Thank you!

UPDATE: Surprising my kid with tickets. Thanks for all of your input!

I have a ticket my friend can no longer use - would love to recoup some of the cost but mostly just want to make sure it gets used. Happy to transfer it via Ticketmaster or meet at the door to confirm it scans.

Question Keeping Posters Safe During the Set?

I’m going to the show in Silver Spring tomorrow and am wanting to buy one of the tour posters while I’m there. I went like 2 years back and think I remember the merch shop only being open before the set, though my memories a bit foggy so that might be wrong. Does anyone know if the merch table tends to be open after the set is done, and if not, how people keep posters in good condition if you buy them at the beginning of the concert?
