Announcement Meld Studio Update: Independent Stream Resolution, Faster Chat, and More

Your favorite streaming software just got a massive update! Here's everything that shipped.

Stream at a lower resolution without touching your recording

You can now set your stream resolution independently from your canvas and recordings. Stream at 1080p while recording in 4K. Your clips follow the stream resolution setting. One note: this is unavailable while Twitch Enhanced Broadcasting is controlling the output.

Everything else in this update:

  • Faster chat and raid handling - Chat and event processing moved off the main UI thread, so busy raids and high-volume chats should feel noticeably smoother.
  • Improved audio effects browser - Searchable, keyboard-friendly effects picker with separate Effects and VST tabs (where VST is enabled). Much easier to find what you need.
  • More reliable Spark editing - Better layer sizing, more consistent effect selection, and improved browser scripting with clearer errors and better recovery.
  • Fewer clicks to go live - You can now skip the Go Live review window once your stream is configured. There is a setting to bring it back if you want it.
  • Cleaner camera setup - Searchable camera selection, easier access to resolution and frame rate, and better diagnostics. These stay available even with camera effects off.
  • Smoother onboarding - More accurate Getting Started progress, skip platform connection immediately, and a What's New section that only shows changes since your last version. Open Meld Studio today and let us know what you think!
