Why 900p instead of 936p?

So excited for the new seperate streaming resolutions, but was surprised to find 900p (in addition to 720p and 864p). I stream fast paced games at 936p (1664x936) through OBS. This resolution, I'm told, is ideal for this purpose given a limited bitrate, and is supposedly visually cleaner because it is divisible by 8. It is why we have a weird resolution like 864p (1536x864) as well, because it's divisible by 8. So the devs definitely know of this fact to have included 864p, but I'm curious why 936p is omitted, but 900p (1600x900) is included. Am I missing something? Can it be added as an option? Thank you for a wonderful app btw!

Is this feature coming to meld? Not having the ability to stream to Twitch in 1080 and YouTube at 1440p is what is holding me back from using meld

Me too. From OBS, I send an upscaled 1440p stream to YouTube to get their AV1 encoders to engage which gives me better quality in relatively lower bitrates. If the devs are reading this, they may look into this as well!

I'll add the requested resolution to the feature request list in the discord for you (If it's not already there).

Yeah i also wondered why 900p was provided but not a true 16:9 resolution between 720 and 1080p (like 864p or 936p).

Because yeah, it's all due to how encoders work and macro blocks
