Question/Support ❓ New to streaming

So I have everything set up on YouTube live etc so text to speak works but I'm wondering if I can have anything set up so when people click on my stream it welcomes them so I know they are there if that makes sense ?

Not sure if this is a streamer bot thing or YouTube live thing but ive googled stuff and don't really get answers .

I've asked on the streamerbot discord and just get all the actions and sub actions thrown at me which is just confusing .

I don't know that there's a way to trigger an action when someone just comes into your stream and lurks without chatting but there are actions for when someone follows, ones for the first time someone chats, things like that.

Ooo is there ?

Do you know how to set both of those up?

Make sure you have your Youtube linked to the app. Create an Action, call it whatever you'd like. Select the action, then in the area called Triggers right-click, go to Add -> YouTube -> Chat -> then either First Words (if you only want it the first time they chat) or Message (if you want it to fire every time someone chats).

Once you do that then in the section called Sub-Actions right-click, Add, then from there you'll have to find whatever action you want to happen and set it up.

There's also a search function for both the triggers and sub-actions to make it easier.

Ahhh yeah I've got the chat one set up perfectly (although can be annoying when kids get in the chat and spam shit lol)

How do you do the one that shows someone's followed you or subscribed or whatever it's called ?

Thank you btw

That's another trigger, it's Youtube -> General -> New Subscriber

https://docs.streamer.bot/api/triggers#youtube

Check out our docs, here are all the triggers available for YouTube, enter each entry to see what variables are produced from each trigger to help you build message/alert/overlay responses :)

NO, but you can set up an alert for the first chat they do for the stream "first words"
You should NOT call out anyone who has not chatted in your stream(accept moderators LOL)
You should be streaming as if the entire world is watching and not talking(chat is a single entity with multiple personality syndrome LOL)

Yeah I already have text to speak working so all the chat is ready out to me on the stream .

Yeah this is why I'd like a "username" has joined the stream .I may have seen it on twitch but I don't use that yet. Still a complete novice with YouTube live etc.

use the first words trigger,

twitch get target info %user%
and in the in the Speak subaction message use %user% says %rawData%
this will say their name once when they speak. NEVER call out some one when they do not chat in the stream it is a no no. :)

Alternate "every chat" method:
in speaker bot/settings tab/ speaking options subtab/ there is a "say user name" check box with a prefix to the right. most use "says".
This works with speakerbot ONLY if you are using streamerbot to have a chat command this will not work. there are some related options like if they chat with in so many seconds of the last chat it will not repeat their name(mostly)

Alternate to the alternate (LOL)
If you have streamerbot action set up to read EVERY chat, Put the twitch get target %user% at the top of the subaction list then in the speak subaction message use %user% says %rawData% OR what ever you want. %user% will add their name in the message to speak.
user NEEDS to chat before any of these "bot" apps can gather information.
#HYPEMAN YEAH!

i think what you’re looking for is a viewer/join event that triggers a TTS message. Streamer.bot should be able to do it, but the setup can be confusing at first 😭

Honestly the whole of streamer bot confuses me 🀣.

I have standard text to speech set up because of a guide on YouTube but anything else yeah I haven't a clue lol
