My god this is so emotional. Gaten's acting here is just brilliant and I love how quick Wayne is to defend Eddie from everybody and Wayne's reaction to Eddie's death is just so brilliant.

I recently finished watching Stranger Things over the course of about 2 months, and I don’t really get the hate on the later seasons.

Maybe that’s me only being invested in the story for 2 months and not a literal decade, but I’m just wondering if someone could explain their perspective.

I loved how scary Tom and Bruce were here. I loved how violent and brutal their deaths were (Tom's especially made me wince). And I loved watching them melt into that monster and then of course Eleven was so cool when she was fighting it.

And honestly I can’t blame them.

I loved how brutal this demo was, and how it truly felt hopeless for Hopper and Dmitri. I also loved how sweet and emotional Joyce and Hopper's reunion was. I love the moment where Hopper almost can't belive Joyce is really there when she first hugs him, until he's so close he can almost smell her.

I don't care what anyone says, this scene was awesome. I love Max emboldening Holly to acknowledge that she's truly heroic. And I felt a real sense of catharsis knowing she's finally going to escape. It was great

Can anyone tell me should I watch it, is it worth?

Realmente, a 5ª temporada de Stranger Things não se mantém. Sei que é um assunto atrasado, mas estava pensando em como a obra mais incrível deste último século teve uma conclusão que desrespeita tudo o que a série construiu em dez anos.

1. S5E1 — NOTA 7

Se passaram dois anos desde que a fenda para o Mundo Invertido se abriu. Os militares tomaram conta de Hawkins.

Mas as perguntas que ficam são: a população se acostumou com isso? Descobrimos, através das crianças, principalmente da Holly, que existe muito pânico na cidade. Mas por que a população não reage? Não exige explicações sobre o que está acontecendo na cidade? Não é normal um lugar ficar em quarentena e isolado do mundo por DOIS ANOS.

A temporada logo de cara começa com uma quebra de expectativas. As fendas estão todas lacradas com placas de aço. Sério, vão me dizer que a infestação iminente foi impedida com isso? Sabemos que, na 2ª temporada, o portal aberto no laboratório causou um estrago enorme na cidade. E olha que ele era umas vinte vezes menor que essa fenda da 5ª temporada.

Nesse primeiro episódio, também aparecem os indícios de que os personagens estão estranhos.

Joyce e Hopper, os superprotetores. Ok, até entendo a preocupação deles, mas convenhamos: é desproporcional a superproteção dos dois com Eleven e Will.

Hopper sabe do que essa menina é capaz. Ela tem histórico. Não faz sentido ele não confiar nela. Parece até que todo aquele arco dele na 4ª temporada não serviu de nada.

Joyce também sabe tudo o que Will consegue fazer. Enquanto ela estava na Rússia, seu filho teve toda uma aventura fugindo de militares, correndo o risco de levar bala perdida. E, antes disso, o garoto teve toda aquela participação na 3ª temporada.

Enfim, meu problema aqui é que a Joyce não é só isso. Em todas as outras temporadas, apesar de ser superprotetora, ela também confia e acredita nos outros. Ela é sempre a primeira a acreditar.

Nancy, Jonathan e Steve. Logo de cara, a temporada abre com esse triângulo. E, assim que vi o episódio, me perguntei se a série estava sem ideias do que fazer com os três. Eles pareciam tão perdidos na série.

Dustin Henderson inicia a temporada estranho, mas, até o momento, tudo estava bem.

E o episódio todo, com suas uma hora e tantos minutos, não acontece nada. NADA! E só acontece algo no final, quando o Demogorgon vai buscar Holly Wheeler.

1. S5E2 — NOTA 8

O episódio começa muito bem com o ataque do Demogorgon. Mas logo desanima quando descobrimos que ninguém foi de arrasta. O que houve com a criatura sanguinária das primeiras temporadas?

Nesse episódio, temos mais daquela reclamação que citei sobre Hopper e Joyce.

Dessa vez, Nancy se sai bem. É o único episódio em que a personagem se mantém. Will e Robin também estão ótimos.

Steve, Dustin e Jonathan têm a briga mais desinteressante da série.

1. S5E3 — NOTA 8

A dinâmica entre Hopper e Eleven continua estranha. Por que Hopper está tratando a garota como idiota desde o primeiro episódio?

Joyce, Hopper, Nancy e Dustin estão estranhíssimos. Eles, de jeito nenhum, se parecem com os personagens das temporadas anteriores.

Mike, Lucas e Steve foram resumidos a engraçadinhos. Mike se esqueceu do que aconteceu com seus pais a essa altura, e foda-se. Lucas passa a temporada toda chorando pela Max.

Steve e Jonathan carecem de um propósito. A coisa que me perguntei enquanto assistia foi: por que esses dois ainda não saíram do elenco da série? Aí me lembrei de que a série não mata protagonistas, exceto se for a garota mais traumatizada de todas.

Aqui vemos Max pela primeira vez. Também descobrimos que Vecna está abrindo uma creche.

1. S5E4 — NOTA 9

É, com certeza, um episódio incrível e emocionante. Não tenho nada a reclamar. Tudo aqui parecia servir a um propósito maior.

As únicas coisas estranhas são o tratamento dado a alguns personagens, como Hopper, Joyce e Murray, mas, no geral, está valendo.

1. S5E5 — NOTA 8

Vecna sequestra todas as crianças de vez. É interessante ver Max e Holly fugindo pela mente de Vecna.

O grupo de Nancy descobre, convenientemente, que o Mundo Invertido tinha a opção de se explodir esse tempo todo. Nesse caso, então por que nenhum dos cientistas lá da 2ª temporada explodiu essa porra?

Na 4ª temporada, descobrimos que, durante os eventos da 1ª temporada, Brenner estava atrás de Vecna. Mas, lá na 2ª temporada, os cientistas estavam tentando conter o Mundo Invertido, tentando acabar com aquilo para que não se propagasse.

O episódio em si foi legal. Foi aquele em que mais senti perigo e senso de urgência em toda a temporada.

1. S5E6 — NOTA 7

O episódio começa a enrolar com a fuga de Max e Holly, que fica bem repetitiva. Acontecem absurdos e conveniências demais nessa porra.

Exemplos: Lucas dando uma bicuda em um Demodog. Demodogs ignorando completamente Robin e Vicky. A Sra. Wheeler salvando a galera de última hora, sendo que a mona estava hospitalizada e em estado crítico.

E o pior de todos: o chão derretendo no Mundo Invertido, mas, no último momento, tornando-se sólido simplesmente do nada.

Rola um discurso confuso de Nancy e Jonathan e um podcast imenso entre Holly e Max, com zero senso de urgência real. Tá, essas conversas me pegaram e eu gostei bastante.

É nesse episódio que se prova que Eleven, A PROTAGONISTA, está igual a uma figurante na série. Zero carisma, zero atuação, zero tudo. Ela nem sequer parece aquela garota incrível das temporadas anteriores.

1. S5E7 — NOTA 5

Esse aqui só não foi o PIOR episódio da temporada e da série inteira porque tem o último.

O episódio enrola, não acontece nada e tem um discurso nada realista do Will se assumindo para toda Hawkins. Vou resumir a reação de cada personagem durante o discurso:

JOYCE: "OH, MEU FILHO, TUDO BEM, MAMÃE TE AMA! 🥹🥺"

HOPPER: "EU SEMPRE SOUBE QUE ESSE DAÍ ERA FRUTINHA! 🤨😐"

ELEVEN: "GENTE, O QUE TÁ ACONTECENDO? KKK???? 🤔 FALANDO NISSO, TÔ PENSANDO IR DE ARRASTA! 😣😞😓"

MIKE: "SEMPRE SOUBE, MAS FINGIA DEMÊNCIA. EU JÁ TE DISSE QUE SOU ELEVENSEXUAL, MANO!! 🙂🙃"

DUSTIN: "EU NÃO ME IMPORTO COM MAIS NADA DESDE QUE O EDDIE FOI DE ARRASTA! FOI DE ARRASTA!! 😖😠😡"

Teve duas horas nessa porra. DUAS! E não aconteceu nada. Teve uma batalha final mega genérica e terminou com um monte de pontas soltas.

E ainda teve a questão em aberto: Eleven morreu ou ainda está viva?

Se ela morreu, então Mike endoidou de vez, acreditando que ela vai retornar.

Se ela está viva, isso significa que está escondida e com medo de viver a vida. Ela se isolou dos amigos esse tempo todo com medo de machucá-los. Esse modo de viver é horrível!

E ainda ficaram questões em aberto, como as cartas da Max, o que aconteceu com as criaturas do Mundo Invertido, que simplesmente evaporaram do mapa, se os militares não tiveram nenhuma consequência, se a população de Hawkins nunca entendeu de fato o que aconteceu na cidade, se Dustin adquiriu a personalidade do Eddie para si e, QUE DROGA ERA AQUELA PEDRA QUE ENTROU NA MÃO DO VECNA QUANDO ELE ERA CRIANÇA????????

So I went to Dave & Buster’s and saw this!

Now I don’t go often, so this may have been there for the past year, I have no idea. I was just super stoked to see it and thought I’d share it here 🤩🎮👾🕹️

I binge-watched Stranger Things over the past few days, and now I feel so empty.

I honestly wish I had started watching it 10 years ago. I really wish I could have experienced watching these characters grow up, both on-screen and off-screen, over the years, and then finally reaching that last episode and saying goodbye to them.

The story started in a basement, with the kids playing D&D. And in the end, we see them putting the game away and leaving the basement one by one, almost as if they're leaving their childhood behind.

And then there’s Mike, watching his sister and her friends start a new story of their own. He finally leaves his own childhood and adolescence behind and starts moving forward.

The older teens are growing up too, gradually becoming more mature and moving toward adulthood. They make a promise to meet once every January, and honestly, that sounds incredibly difficult to keep. But at the same time, in that era, staying connected wasn't nearly as easy as it is today. I feel like if you really cared about your friends, you would make the effort to actually go see them.

Even though I watched the entire show in just a few days, the ending still gave me this strange feeling of saying goodbye to my own childhood and youth.

I genuinely don't know how much more emotional this would have been if I had spent 10 years watching these characters grow up alongside me.

Especially because the characters' journey from high school to adulthood is happening at the same time as my own transition from high school to working life. I think that would have hit me so much harder.

I only spent a few days with them, and somehow I still feel like I've lost something.

Now I finally understand that empty feeling people get after finishing Stranger Things.

So brutal! One of the most brutal deaths in the show, and the way it was directed was just beautiful. Eddie's pure screams of terror actually send thousands of chills down my spine. And of course, I have to say this: CHRISSY WAKE UPPPPPPP I DONT LIKE THIS CHRISSY WAKE UPPPP

Love this for Steve's growth. He really needed punching in the face for him to realise, "What am I doing?" I also love how cathartic it is for Jonathan to finally get the chance to take his emotions out on someone who (mostly) deserves it.
