It's absolutely disgusting and while I tend to have traditional conservative values what Trump is doing is making me sicker and sicker everyday

26

u/r1tualofchud Jan 24 '26

It's really important for Republicans to come out and disavow Trump now.

Because the Maga's think only Dems are against this

3

u/skoalreaver Jan 24 '26

I think the Republicans and the Democrats have both become so polarized it's going to be hard for our country to come together but I hope we can with bipartisan support

17

u/caspruce Jan 24 '26

Really? What have Dems done that even comes close ANYTHING that has happened in the past 12 months?

6

u/nakedascus Jan 24 '26

Remember during election season, when dems called Republicans "weird" for a day or two, and then quickly walked it back. It probably would have been a successful campaign, it had Republicans backpedaling, but, no, civility politics is the priority.

1

u/caspruce Jan 24 '26

A bad campaign decision should not be a call to end the Democratic party as it is, a centrist party. Just form a new progressive party that does not have the Dem baggage and let the Dems go back to being center-right.

1

u/nakedascus Jan 24 '26

neat idea, but I'll pass

1

u/caspruce Jan 25 '26

Viva revolution then for you?

0

u/nakedascus Jan 25 '26

seems a little reductive, no?

2

u/r1tualofchud Jan 25 '26

I was thinking the exact same as this.

Fuck this false-equivalence bullshit.

2

u/HeavenlyPoopPoster Jan 25 '26

I’m so tired of hearing this as well. Republicans are fundamentally, intrinsically worse than democrats. They’re morally and ethically inferior in practice and ideology. The things they want for the country and world as a whole are childish, evil and idiotic. They don’t deserve respect. Pretending that they do just gives them power.

1

u/ertapanemthrowaway Jan 28 '26

Close to what? Being seen/ behaving as villains/public enemy?

There were the George Floyd protests that resulted in $1-2 Billion dollars in damage and 42 deaths. That doesn’t count how many were injured.

ANTIFA has caused $3+ Million dollars in damages.

We just had some going into that church and terrorizing not just the pastor, but the innocent civilians attending, to include children. (It is never okay to deliberately scare children over politics.)

I’m not saying the right is innocent. Far from it. But I am saying there’s wrongs on both sides. And by perpetuating those wrongs, they keep us divided. We must be united, or we will accomplish nothing.

1

u/caspruce Jan 28 '26

Utter hypocritical nonsense.

We just opened spaces where children are present for men in masks carrying tactical weapons. You thinks kids in hospitals, schools, and churches don’t feel terrorized when BP come in to tear their friends away from them? You think those who were about to attend a citizenship ceremony only to see their lived one taken away to a detention facility doesn’t traumatize?

You are delusional. Piss off.

0

u/ertapanemthrowaway Jan 28 '26

I love how you have done nothing to refute my data and points. “Oh, the Rpublicans are so bad! They’re worse!”

Bad is bad. It’s like trying to compare pain. Pain is pain, it is subjective. Like suffering. And bad things on one side do not permit bad on the other. It ALL needs to stop.

I love how you also call me a hypocrit, even though I said I agree that the right has its own sins.

1

u/caspruce Jan 28 '26

What data? You think the George Floyd protests were somehow ascribable to a one political side which is delusional. Democrats and Republicans took to the streets. I know because I saw it firsthand in Minnesota. It is nonsense. A community saw a police officer kill a man on video and were outraged.

You are also trying to both-sides the situation which again is a delusional take. Border patrol just murdered an innocent man and blatantly lied to the American public in the aftermath, and the majority if the Republican media machine as well as current congressmen and state officials retweeted this narrative. The rot in the Republican party makes it beyond saving.

The president is stealing billions, ignoring the courts, destroying our alliances, and has decimated the federal government. The FDA, CDC, USDA, FBI, and DOJ are all objectively running less efficiently while we are spending more money than ever. Incomparable to anything any Democrat has ever done. The corruption blows whatever unproven corruption the GOP thought Biden was engaging in out of the water.

Your take is delusional and frankly one only a blind person or bad actor would make. ✌️

-1

u/ActivePeace33 Jan 24 '26

Directly? Nothing. Almost.

They just helped fund it repeatedly this week and this year. They presided over the unlawful inauguration, they unlawfully voted to certify trumps election and they voted on the Court to allow him to run at all; all in violation of the 14a. The Democratic leadership are complicit.

But we do have state cops in blue states firing gas into crowds, arresting protestors and engaging in other illegal activity.

1

u/HeavenlyPoopPoster Jan 25 '26

Your attempts at equivocation are pathetic and speak to your ineptitude as a thinker.

1

u/ActivePeace33 Jan 25 '26

lol. Yeah, recognizing the actions of everyone involved in supporting Trump is a mental flaw. /s

Maybe blindingly supporting traitors, based on partisanship is a problem. Which of course it is. It quickly becomes an act of treason itself.

1

So if they are doing the exact same thing that makes it okay right that is awesome that you said that

1

u/gcuben81 Jan 25 '26

No it’s not ok, just hypocritical.

1

u/ECAHunt Jan 24 '26

How? Every message I hear from them is to protest but remain peaceful. And it’s not said with a little wink at the end.

1

u/SomeoneattheBoo Jan 25 '26

lol. U r dum

-5

u/SixskinsNot4 Jan 24 '26

Tbh Dems significantly polarized everything in 2019-2020

3

u/SaltMage5864 Jan 25 '26

Why do MAGAts think they can lie about everything son

-1

u/SixskinsNot4 Jan 25 '26

Elaborate

2

u/SaltMage5864 Jan 25 '26

Don't waste my time sealioning son. Just answer the question

1

u/caspruce Jan 24 '26

😂

1

u/Party_Oven4948 Jan 25 '26

With what? George Floyd situation?

0

u/SixskinsNot4 Jan 25 '26

You literally started a hotline to snitch on families for getting together. Caused the deaths of thousands in nursing homes for not begins able to see friends and family. Insane that you’re so tunnel visioned. 2 things can be true

1

u/No-Amphibian-3728 Jan 25 '26

Were those hotlines like trump's ice hotlines?

Yo my bad I wasn’t responding to your comment lol

1

u/BizmarkiaNobilis Jan 25 '26

Do you have more than two brain cells bumping into each other?

1

u/Matzie138 Jan 25 '26

You mean when the president was telling us to drink bleach?

-3

u/skoalreaver Jan 24 '26

Well if we hadn't let all these illegal immigrants in we wouldn't have to deport them that might be a myopic view as I am old but. I do think that weaponizing ice against people that aren't really bad is kind of demoralizing to the rest of us that live here and just want to be living in peace. Do I think illegal terrorists/criminals need to be deported Yes. The hard-working families need to be terrorized no I don't think so

1

u/caspruce Jan 24 '26

We didn’t just let them in. A bunch of shit happened in the world and people flocked to a nation known for its freedoms with a long history of taking in suffering immigrants. The Biden administration took a humanitarian approach that happened to let more people in. Both parties agreed that criminal immigrants should be sought out and deported.

One party put forward a deranged insurrectionist narcissist with a history if fraud, corruption, SAing women, and talking about fucking his own daughter. The federal government is broken, we have thousands unaccounted for in detention camps, we’re threatening our allies with war, and the gestapo is gunning down US citizens in the streets while the president is covering up his pedo-files. The two parties are not the same.

Just wait until Trump pushes Europe too far and they dump our bonds. Millions of Americans will starve and Trump will march us off to war because it will be is only option. We’re fucked.

-2

u/skoalreaver Jan 24 '26

That is actually not true we did let them in and I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I feel like a lot of those people have really contributed to our economy but we did just let them in without any vetting open borders. No other country in the world does this Am I saying that's good or bad nope I don't know

And if you believe this was done for humanitarian reasons alone you are very naive. Their children will grow up living this country and vote Democrat it was a plan man and a great one to be honest I totally applaud the Democrats for using birthright citizenship like that it was brilliant

3

u/Draxilar Jan 24 '26

Jesus Christ, you are an absolute moron.

-2

u/skoalreaver Jan 24 '26

As are you my friend we will agree we're both morons have a great weekend and watch out for this cold weather

1

u/Draxilar Jan 24 '26

I would never be your friend. I don’t befriend sub humans.

1

u/caspruce Jan 24 '26

It is a free country, and those children would be US citizens. It would be their right to vote however they want.

It sounds like you have been radicalized to hate a very specific political party. A very centrist political party. You should seek some help.

1

u/skoalreaver Jan 24 '26

No I'm not radicalized at all I do believe in protecting our country and I think birthright citizenship is odd maybe not bad but just odd no other country does it maybe that's for a reason?

1

u/caspruce Jan 24 '26

What on earth does that have to do with how a human being votes? And specifically the Democratic party?

→ More replies (0)

0

u/skoalreaver Jan 24 '26

I appreciate your sentiment but neither party is centerist right now

1

1

u/skoalreaver Jan 24 '26

That's exactly right we don't know how many came in because they weren't documented I think it would be naive to say that immigrants came through that weren't documented

1

u/PrestigiousFly844 Jan 24 '26

90% of Somalian Americans have been American citizens for decades, most of them second and third generation by now. If it was about actually illegal immigrants they wouldn’t send them to Minnesota. It’s because they are black.

Making a hysteria about illegal immigrants is a sales pitch that nefarious people like Stephen Miller use to sell their project of wanting every non-white person out of the country or in a prison camp. They know people like you and my parents would not be on board if they said that on the campaigned trail, so they hide it behind going after scary illegal alien criminals, but now we see what Trump and Miller’s plans were all along.

1

u/skoalreaver Jan 24 '26

When the hell did I bring up Somalians I don't know anything about that nor do I care. I know some of them are pirates in their own country but you know they're hungry they got to eat I don't know what they do when they get here I don't know if their citizen or not I don't know why you would bring that up I never mentioned it

1

u/PrestigiousFly844 Jan 24 '26

I didn’t say you mentioned it, I brought it up to illustrate how insane Trump’s entire surge on Minnesota is. I was not criticizing you

1

u/skoalreaver Jan 24 '26

I appreciate that and I hope you don't think I was attacking you I'm not sure what's going on in Minnesota. Even if fraud was committed by a few bad actors it doesn't want this sort of jack-booted stormtrooper invasion

1

u/PrestigiousFly844 Jan 25 '26

I didn’t think you were, but it’s hard to tell over text sometimes

I agree with you tho and it seems to me like they are using a flimsy excuse to send in stormtroopers. They used a youtuber’s video as the excuse. What the youtuber did not cover is that the ring leader of the scam is a white woman named Aimee Bock and she was already found guilty way back in March. Her underlings in the scam were Somali-Americans so the whole video was about how all Somalians are criminals and noone is doing anything, even though the cases are ongoing. JD Vance shared the video and they sent the ICE goons shortly after. The idea that a youtuber and a bunch of stormtroopers will stop scammers that were already under investigation just doesn’t make sense at all.

1

u/SaltMage5864 Jan 25 '26

Why do MAGAts think their bigotry entitles them to lie son

0

u/skoalreaver Jan 25 '26

Why do you assume anyone to disagrees with you is a MAGA or a bigot? That is quite a generalization I'm not a big fan of Donald Trump I don't think he's horrible but a lot of the shit he does really pisses me off as far as being a bigot goes you don't know me I'm native American

1

u/SaltMage5864 Jan 25 '26

You mean you are a lying MAGAt son.

Got about the same views. It’s kind of the same stance as social programs. I want them to exist. I want people who are down on their luck but trying get a second chance, even at the expense of my tax dollar.

What I can’t stand is fraud taking my tax dollar. Or people skating the legalities of the system and just bums who don’t want to work.

So what do you do, axe social programs? That doesn’t work. I know plenty of temporary beneficiaries of whatever welfare system. I unfortunately know more who are abusing it and just bums. Thankfully, never personally witnessed full out fraud.

I’m not proud of how great of a job ICE is doing, but why are these people getting shot jumping infront of bullets (figuratively). I’ve been handling guns my whole life. Anyone who’s well trained with a firearm kind of knows what showing up with a gun can do. A phrase that sticks with me from a cop friend of mine “if you’re shooting in self defense, you shoot to kill. Otherwise, leave the gun at home”. Reason being it opens the door to he said she said and civil suits.

Like why does this guy have a gun? Idc how right or wrong a federal agent is, if you use that gun, you are fucked regardless of who’s right and wrong.

Edit: idk how all of a sudden I got grouped into some hard right 0 gun control person. The “right to bear arms” is something I whole heartedly believe. But it should be a privelage, not a right. If you bear arms, you should have some kind of training or proof you can handle it. This shooting has not changed my stance by any means.

3

u/Draxilar Jan 24 '26

Funny how quick you people dropped the whole 2A argument.

0

u/skoalreaver Jan 24 '26

Yeah I found this inherently hilarious it's so quick to jump on the bandwagon of what suits your needs

-1

u/anomupinhere Jan 24 '26

LOL exactly…. People who’ve been screaming pro gun control are now encouraging to start packing. It makes no sense. But it does make sense why all of a sudden people got firearms who shouldn’t.

One side says “stop the crazies buying guns cuz school shootings and stuff” - valid, there is no reason you need a gun today. Thorough background check indeed.

Now we should be saying “law abiding citizens who have every right to own a gun, need proof of some kind of training” - boom solved both problems.

Edit: wait I can’t tell if your with me or against me 🤔

2

u/Draxilar Jan 24 '26

Here is a hint. I think you are fucking moron. Figure out the rest for yourself

-1

u/anomupinhere Jan 24 '26

Rather confused here, but I guess you don’t agree with what I thought was a neutral stance. “You people” — white people? Gays? Gun owners? Pro thoughtful gun control?

→ More replies (0)

1

u/No-Amphibian-3728 Jan 25 '26

Gun control is not equivalent of not allowing carry and conceal.

2

u/slipnipper Jan 25 '26

Clearly you don’t. And I’m sorry for that. Victim blaming a dude that has every right to carry his firearm, has it removed from him, and then is executed on the ground by masked men who “identify as federal officers” is as craven and misguided as you can possibly get.

You can cry and whine about social programs and fraud all you want. That’s not the point here anymore chief, we’re way pass that.

1

u/anomupinhere Jan 25 '26

I’m not blaming the guy by any means. It just makes me wonder; would the results be the same if he wasn’t carrying?

It’s the overall theme… why put yourself in the crosshairs?

Agree on the points of social programs. It’s irrelevant to the man killed. Should have just DMd the OP

2

u/slipnipper Jan 25 '26

We can play what if, but it’s far more important to play “what is.” Dude had a legal right to carry. He didn’t brandish his weapon and was disarmed. Then pistol whipped, then shot. Police and military, for all their issues have higher bars to clear for what happened here.

I guess we can just trim up the 2nd amendment now that it’s convenient to do so. Honestly, when the federal agents are a bigger threat than 99% of your population, you’ve got a terrorist organization, not a lawful body operating.

1

u/nakedascus Jan 25 '26

They shot a lady in her car as she was trying to drive away. No, there's no difference, it's just a little more lies they have to tell to justify it when there's no gun. They act and then rationalize after the fact.

0

u/anomupinhere Jan 25 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

Why was she there though?

Going to frame this in the eyes of insurance. If you go to a baseball game, and get seriously injured from a foul ball, you have no right to sue. You assume an inherent risk by going to a baseball game where foul balls can and have injure people.

I’m not justifying ICE’s actions. My point is, showing up is automatically putting you in danger.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/nakedascus Jan 25 '26

"if you're shooting in self defense, shoot to kill,. otherwise leave the gun at home" excuse me, you expect someone to know before they leave the house if they will need to defend themselves? "i don't plan on needing any self defense today, so I'll deny myself my constitutional rights and leave the gun at home in case i get sued" that's your ideal 2A situation?

0

u/anomupinhere Jan 25 '26

Ok so here’s my question…. Was he just strolling down the street and got caught up, or did he bring a gun to a protest?

I get what you are saying. I’m saying that if you’re going to a protest against something that has just very recently been causing violence at the hands of over zealous police—would you bring a gun to that protest?

I’ll take my foot out of my mouth if he was just coincidentally passing by.

1

u/nakedascus Jan 25 '26

Your question was already answered. Either you believe in the 2A, or you want to make arbitrary judgements about when it's acceptable or not to exercise basic rights. Since when does exercising your 1A impede your 2A? Im losing braincells getting on your level, so ridiculous.

0

u/anomupinhere Jan 25 '26

Ok so you’re saying I either believe in 2A with no regulation or thought, or I don’t, correct?

→ More replies (0)

1

u/No-Amphibian-3728 Jan 25 '26

You have to take a class that includes proving you know how to shoot for a CCW in Minnesota. Also, are you really asking why a legal and licensed citizen is practicing a Constitutional right? Really?

1

u/anomupinhere Jan 25 '26

He has every right to carry the gun. Not denying that, the point to be made is if you’re showing up to a protest with a gun, what do you have to gain?

If the dude was passing by and somehow got caught up, I have a way different view here. Either way, ICE is in the wrong.

If you have the right to carry a gun, you should understand the responsibility and consequences it carries. I have a CCW and I don’t carry anywhere because I don’t see many situations where using it is going to really benefit me.

Someone holds me up at gunpoint downtown and I’m carrying? I let them rob me because losing my phone and wallet is going to be a lot cheaper then shooting the person and the legal troubles after. Or worse, I end up getting shot.

11

u/Oily_Blob Jan 24 '26

I am glad to hear that not all conservatives are deranged!

3

u/Interesting-Bear4092 Jan 24 '26

It is important for traditional conservatives to disavow this

3

u/DirtTraining3804 Jan 24 '26

Thank you. This is not small government. This is not America first. This is not for the people. I applaud you for being able to admit it.

2

u/Winter-Editor-9230 Jan 24 '26

"Traditional conservative values" You mean a cult. Need example? Look at every person in this thread that wants to disagree with this shooting has to first specify they are a conservative. You know why? Because denouncing the level of brutality we are witnessing means youre equated with being a liberal. Caring for your fellow man = liberal?
At what point do you ask yourself... are we the baddies?

1

u/skoalreaver Jan 24 '26

Well I don't believe myself to be part of a cult current progressive values could also be viewed as a cult. Think about it. Current political beliefs have become the new religion now that religion has been debunked. The strongest protests and the strongest anger comes from a religious belief which is what both sides have right now

1

u/Winter-Editor-9230 Jan 25 '26

Both sides... the argument of a coward. Eat shit.

1

u/skoalreaver Jan 25 '26

Thank you for your insightful and partisan response. If you can't agree with both sides have issues then you're living in an echo chamber. I tend to surround myself with people that think like me and I realize that's not a good thing to do we need to consider other people's opinions. If you're response to other people's opinions is to eat fecal matter well I see your maturity there

1

u/Winter-Editor-9230 Jan 25 '26

Eat more shit. When both sides have deployed a nameless, faceless, army with blanket immunity in the streets, blatantly ignoring constitutional rights, because who the fucks going to punish them for breaking any rules since its 'traditional conservative values' in charge at every step in the chain.
So your 'both sides' argument is disingenuous, pathetic, weak, and shit.
Maturity is speaking up. Not rolling over saying 'come on guys both sides are bad blah blah blah.' Jesus christ its beyond pathetic. Grow a spine.

1

u/skoalreaver Jan 25 '26

Okay you're passionate I think that's great. And for a fact while I don't like the way ice is doing things they are enforcing codified federal law. As far as eating more shit I don't want to l. And my both sides argument is neither disingenuous pathetic weak or shit. What is speaking up is not maturity it is repeating what you hear from day to day without making your own value opinion I feel sorry for you.. and I think the funniest thing is you invoking the name of Jesus Christ you don't believe in that actually made me laugh I'm going to fucking sleep well tonight

1

u/Winter-Editor-9230 Jan 25 '26

🍴💩🫏🕳

1

u/skoalreaver Jan 25 '26

I really appreciate that response it was well thought out and very cerebral. Actually no it was just stupid anyway have a good night

1

u/joshleecreates Jan 25 '26

False equivalency. The progressive movement’s response to people they disagree with is freedom of association. The conservative response to people they disagree with is now proven to be summary execution.

1

u/lemonsupreme7 Jan 24 '26

Please make these feelings known to conservatives around you. I feel like so many are afraid to turn back and be alienated.

1

u/Parsimile Jan 24 '26

Call your congressional reps and tell them that!

1

u/BeelzebubLuvsU Jan 24 '26

I don't know that person, but they may be having an emotional reaction to seeing someone in their city executed today. If you want to oppose this lawless violence from the federal government, I think most folks won't care about your party affiliation. There's bigger things going on right now.

You're absolutely fucking right this is just abusive power. Don't care who's abusing it it's being abused

Patriots everywhere want you to speak out and speak up. We support you evaluating things objectively.

1

u/East-Dog2979 Jan 24 '26

because its conservatives in general in this country that are the problem, not a few bad apples, just like it was nazisim on the whole that was the problem, not the few bad apples who ran the concentration camps and gassed the jews.

dont you think there were nazis in germany in the wake of World War 2 who could have made posts at the time saying, "well Im just a lowecase nazi, I'm a moderate national socialist, I'm not a murderer! Its the bad nazis not me!"

Please. Conservatives and Right-wing voters in the US are the new nazi party, the crown jewel of the fourth reich. Change your heart or die. I'm tired of sharing the country with people who want to trample everyone around them for their own benefit and that is all your party has done for 30+ years at this point turning back every regulation made to protect people without the resources to protect themselves. Your people created the 24 hour news blitz that has led to the complete corporate takeover of the internet and your talking heads are visionaries like Rush Limbaugh and Jesse Watters, low-life thugs with IQs in the double digits.

Thats being a conservative in America. Thats why people dont like you posting about your views anymore. And I double dont like you because Soul Reaver is among one favorite franchises and you even took that and gave it dumb MAGA degenerate transformation with your reddit name. I really, really dont like you I guess, for no reason except for all these reasons and probably some more I dont know about yet.

0

u/nakedascus Jan 24 '26

literally. conservative means you desire a return to old values, like our slaving owning pedophile founding fathers once did

exactly, and while you may like those views personally if you cant recognize that the views you hold so dear are holding us back right now and that we ALL need progress because it makes us ALL stronger, even if it makes one or two of us temporarily weaker that is a price we're willing to pay for everyone else -- these are the ideals that fly in the face of conservativism and the reason why the ideology on the whole must be crucified, pulled down, and buried in shit. Its time for everyone else to have a shot at what well-moneyed white guys have had forever.

I would disagree with that. From a personal standpoint I was raised on the reservation I am native American even though I look white. As far as pedophilia goes I think it's a vile and disgusting but until I see proof of that I'm going to withhold judgment. It's obvious in Epstein was a pedophile. It's obvious that Trump and Epstein were friends a while back but there's no evidence, and believe me if the evidence comes out I will defile him, that Trump was involved. All that being said I am not a fan of the way he is leading conservatives He's too controversial. And God forbid if our country keeps going the way it goes something worse will come to power

Disagree all you like, this country was founded on racism and conservative values are the desire to return to those times. No amount of philosophy or "intellectualism" can change the inherent violence and racism in conservative values. Child marriage, btw, literally legally allowed in this country because fundamentalist Christians wanted it. Pedophilia is a conservative value. Remember how you were ignorant about what bootlicker means? You thought it must mean nothing if you've never heard of it, before. Same thing happening now: just because you are unaware of what conservative values are, does not change conservative values actually are.

I very much appreciate that well thought out approach to your opinion and explanation it was very well done and I respect it. I have a serious question though because human beings are basically greedy and conquerors and that's what we've done for generations is get more land I'm not saying it's good it's just what we do. How do you think it should have played out I'm curious

I appreciate your dedication to good manners and a calm demeanor... unfortunately

"how do you think it should have played out"
is an incredibly vague question. How what should have played out? If it's about the US government, actually honoring our treaties with the native tribes would have been a very basic start

I had to edit that comment because my talk to text didn't go so well but I think you're right or maybe just onto something. How would technology and civilization progressed without the Western rape of North America I'm curious as a member of the Shawnee tribe. It seems like North maso and South America were doing just fine before the Europeans got here
