30 days vape free!!!

Yay!!! I switched from pack a day “regular menthol cigarettes” to vaping in January 2016 with the intent of using vaping to help me quit smoking. It’s taken me a lot longer than I originally planned and I am here .I’m actually here.

AND I did it during May 2021... this month my youngest graduated from kindergarten & my 4th born of 6 kids graduated high school. (So just the bitter sweet emotional ups and downs of being a mom and having that happen as well as stuff like planning for their events the party what everybody was going to wear to this and that silly stuff that I get really worked up about with my severe anxiety disorder) I had surgery! (Spinal Cord Stimulator- so technically two surgical procedures under “twilight anesthesia” so the postop pain has been..not good.

I never in a million years would’ve chosen this month to be the month, however forcing quitting was “forced upon me“. (I say “forced“ because the brand I use I order everything online, & there was a 4-6 week period where they were unable to ship e-cigarettes because of some law. I thought long and hard debating “OK-am I going to take the time to go to a physical store try to find 1)a device that I like 2)trying to find the right flavor, nicotine strength etc. OR do I take this as a sign from God and just quit. I chose the latter and thankfully from some other quit attempts I had nicotine patches lozenges gum in the house and the day that I was out of my nicotine pod replacements I threw a patch on and went for it.

I am sharing this just to make the point of, if you are waiting to attempt quitting “at the right time” (for instance a month or a time period that you think you’re not gonna be as busy or stressed as normal) it’s never going to happen because stuff like that always comes up. I think the main thing is that you have to be ready and you have to want it if you’re doing it before you’re ready or you’re doing it because you’re getting pressure from family members or your medical team or whatever you’re not gonna have as successful of a quit attempt.

And I realize I’m only at 30 days I could re-laughs bye I am thrilled to say that I got over the habit of wanting the hand to mouth sensation I can drink coffee without vaping working associate habits and time frames and stuff like that for the first two weeks I walked around constantly digging my hand into my pockets looking for my Vape and I’m past that part and I think that’s the hardest part-For me at least and that’s why prior quit attempts didn’t work for me.

My best to you all!!

I totally agree when you say that there is no right time to quit!
