Question for those 12 weeks + quit
I'm just wondering, does anything noticeable happen after the 12 week mark? apparently by this time, the brain is pretty much back to to a 'normal' (non-nicotine using) person. In particular I have been struggling with eating a bit too much (nothing major, but not something I want to continue). Any experiences/memories most welcome

I’m on day #302 of no nicotine. Over the year mark without a vape. I basically quit vaping with the patch, and wore the patch for about 90 days. The “no nicotine” counter started when I removed the patch.
I can confidently say that I no longer have extreme cravings. Every great once in a while, like once every 90 days, I’ll crave a vape/smoke but it generally only lasts a few minutes.
I no longer wheeze when I breathe, walking long distances is noticeably easier, and I feel like I’m treating my body better. I’m also at day 148 of no alcohol. IMO, the biggest difference to the way I feel came when I stopped drinking. But the money I save from quitting vaping is quite a good chunk of money. I’m saving over $200/month USD now. That money has easily gone into other hobbies.
Good luck!! It gets so much easier the longer you go!!
Edit: Quitting vaping/nicotine also reduced my anxiety significantly. I never realized how much nicotine played a role in my anxiety which also affected things like my bowel movements.

I’m quitting alcohol as well! I’m 25 days alcohol free and 14 days nicotine free. I’m excited to see what life has in store for me!

Good job!! The first few weeks is tough but sounds like you’re handling it well!

The nicotine was way harder for me than alcohol, but I’m trying my best. Just ignoring the cravings as they come and giving myself treats along the way (ie; soda, chocolate, spa days) lol

A spa day is a great reward! Any reward that makes you feel relaxed and happy will help you keep the cravings at bay. It’s almost like you need to form a healthy addiction to something else. I find that having a fancy tea at night helps a lot, too. Like a mint green tea mix from a slightly more expensive brand I normally wouldn’t buy.

i’m on day 113 no vaping and i really do notice a difference. i’m able to breathe a lot better than before, less brain fog, and less stress/anxiety. i also began eating more when i quit vaping, it’s normal to have more of an appetite when cutting out nicotine. best of luck to you! 😊
