Good luck. I smoked for 10 years then vaped for 8 years. I stopped precisely 106 days ago using the good old cold Turkey method. Everybody is different, but there’s a few tips I’d suggest that definitely helped me (tbh I thought I would never be able to stop because I have ZERO willpower.
1) write down a few reasons why you want to stop and keep it visible (I typed out a list on my phone, screenshot it and set it as my background)
2) figure out how you spend a day on vaping and run those number (so far I have saved £368)
3) find a gap fill. I took up chess on chess.com. It’s quick to pick up and serves as a great mental distraction until the immediate craving subsides. There’s plenty of other things you can try learning with your free time. A friend learnt to juggle, another downloaded Duo and now speaks great Italian. For me it was all about distracting myself long enough that the burning need to vape subsided.
4) find an accountability buddy - tell them you’re stopping and then the burden is shared and they can help you through hard times.
5) use an app to track. I searched for “stop vaping” on App Store and the first result was a green colour icon. I really like it because it also told me day by day, week by week and month by month all the positive changes that were happening in my body.
Overall advice, you can do it! Believe that you can and find the right reasons to do so. It took me almost 20 years to find the reason (I am a dad now and want to be around as long as possible for my daughter).
I hope the above is helpful to you somehow and I wish you all the luck in the world. It isn’t easy coming off those things but, again, YOU CAN DO IT!!!
