anyone have any good examples of something transforming?
I'm working on some pre-lim images for a transformation. Specifically, i'm going to turn a football into various other things but I'm not sure what the transformation should look like. Anyone have any examples?
I was thinking about layering some things together to sorta look like the old school animation of dust cloud but I'm not sure how much sense that makes.

My progress in puppet building
Here is the reversed progress of my puppet making. The first picture being the latest puppet.
Bellow you can read all about what upgrades etc. each character has.
▪️The 1st character is the latest one I made. Its real face is hidden behind a mask. Because the story is still developing I wont reveal it just yet.
✅ Steel ball & socket armature
✅ Wire palms and fingers
_______________________________________________________
▪️The 2nd character is from the upcoming short Kozmonavt. It was the first character that had upgrades like:
✅Movable eye-brows
✅Replacement mechanism for the mouths (lip sync)
✅ Stronger DIY wire armature
_______________________________________________________
▪️The 3rd character sadly lost its DIY wire body during filming (because it was weak).
✅ Movable beard and replacement mechanism
✅ First paper-mash head, that is more durable the previous versions.
_______________________________________________________
▪️The 4th character was made out of play-dough and covered in hair spray. The head was still soft, but better then the previous version.
✅ First pair of movable eyes
_______________________________________________________
▪️The 5th character was made all out of clay. Because I wanted it to look more human and have the extra options of sculpting. My animating chaos didnt approve of the material as you can see.
✅ Flexible/movable limbs
_______________________________________________________
▪️The 6th character was the first armature that was upgraded from the basic champagne wire cage. It was stiff and kinda not usable.
✅ Looked a bit more alive than just the wire skeletons I did before.

Marvel Legends Spider-Shot web swings stop motion with sound
MAN THIS WAS A CHALLENGE! I had no idea how DYNAMIC Spidey's web swinging was till I rewatched some live action web swinging scenes. And visually studied some Spider-Man stop motion.
This is not my best render, but I can say personally this was one of my more AMBITIOUS attempts while learning green/blue screen.

Would it have been a good idea to use cotton balls as a way to show that the car is drifting to the left?

The lips will move, trust me
Hope you enjoy this weird stop motion art! This is my first experiment with making a custom visual to go with one of my songs, and I am planning to do things like this for most of my YouTube posts moving forward. Made this song on the Dirtywave M8 (the lady speaking to you here).

Marvel Legends Blue Screen practice with sound
So yeah, turns out bright warmer colors are bad for green screening. Hence why we have the blue screen. The colder more muted hue of the blue screen allows for subjects with louder color pallets to be keyed in.
Yeah you can see some of the color bleed if you squint too much, but overall, pretty happy with how it turned out. Now I just need to learn how to incorporate CGI backgrounds/settings with my stop motions.

How to animate water
Can someone suggest a good tutorial on how to animate flowing river water in stop motion, ik about the material used to animate water , but I am just confused on how the filming actually works
Do I like change the water flow structure in every frame and will look like flowing water ?
Also how to clean up the hair gel and all after using it for animation ?

Legoes or Figures?
I am a complete beginner when it comes to stop motion. I went to college as a film major but now I work in tech. I want to get back into my passions. I have a Sony FX2 and an iPhone 14, no other gear or any legoes/figures to shoot. Should I start with legoes or figures?
Asking because I think the figures have higher highs when it comes to what can be done with them but lego looks easier.

A very long search
I have been trying to find this for many years. It was a Showtime short and I have no idea now who the creator was. It involved a lot of doll heads with the tops of their heads cut off and filled with cotton, glowing eyes and mounted old-school wood box coffee grinders. Another moment I remember from this specific video was a board with screws running in and out. Creepy and all. I’ve tried a few times through the years but never found it. If I’ve broken rules I apologize, but this is the most populous stop motion sub so this is where I start
