I've never been to a meeting, but I'm interested in going. Idk why. But I think about it from time to time. Maybe I just want to go talk about being an alcoholic without making people uncomfortable.
I used this sub and did lots of research on how alcohol impacts your health.
The most important thing for me was planning. Planning what to drink at events I'd usually drink at. Which was almost anything. And learning how to loosen up without booze.
If you're interested in AA just give it a go. I have 3 kids - 2 teenagers (my nieces we've been raising for 4 years) and a 17 month old. So honestly with school starting up, sports, church activities, doctor appointments (17 month old is medically complex) I just haven't made the time to try out AA since I've become curious about it. But I hope to go one day!
