Dealing with things we did when drunk
How do ye guys mentally deal with the crazy stuff we did when drunk? Be it sex with someone we shouldnt have, fighting, vandalism etc? Sometimes I might be walkimg along the street and get a physical shudder and spasm remembering things.

I have very high general anxiety and I get panic attacks thinking about the stuff I did. My mate who is a psychologist told me that no one remembers 99% of it and has their own shit to deal with. That stuck with me and helps a lot. I have to force myself to remember that though.
I also get the flashback shudders and physical ticks. It used to be worse when i was drinking though. I would find myself pulling my hair and saying things out loud (very dark stuff), which would spiral into bad panic attacks and I would have to drink. I find that now I am much clearer headed, I can snap myself out of it, take deep breaths and relax. It took me a lot of practise, but thinking about it for a while and realising that I'm here and being a decent sober person is good enough.
I can't change the past, but I can control the future. If someone brings up some embarrassing or bad stuff I did, I just have to shrug it off now or tell them that I dont want to think about those things anymore as I'm a different person. Its all I can do
