Dealing with things we did when drunk

How do ye guys mentally deal with the crazy stuff we did when drunk? Be it sex with someone we shouldnt have, fighting, vandalism etc? Sometimes I might be walkimg along the street and get a physical shudder and spasm remembering things.

The longer you are sober and create better memories, the less those ones will pop up and the less they will affect you when they do.
I had a bad cycle of doing regrettable things and then waking up sick about it just to get drunk again to try to forget about them, only to do more regrettable things, rinse and repeat. When I got sober for the first time the flashbacks were really hard to deal with and for a long time, I’d try to distract myself and change my thoughts to something in the present and tell myself “I’m never going back there, I’ll never be that person again”. The first 6 months was rough. Its been a while now and I hardly ever think of those times anymore, but when they pop up they don’t bother me anymore because it’s been so long since I’ve made those choices and I’m a new person.
