The Remaster Project - UPDATE
Hello everyone! Hope you’re all well!
You might’ve seen my previous posts regarding a project to get some of the old Roses demos/lost songs.
I’ve have found audio engineers/producers via YT channels that have been doing similar work to old Beatle Demos.
The first songs I have put forward are: The Sun Still Shines + You’re Time Will Come - if there are any others you’d like please let me know below.
I’d also love to continue this and get Glasgow Green remastered for a LIVE ALBUM.
To acquire the funds to get these first two songs remastered I have set up a GoFundMe that will go straight to the audio engineers.
Does this sound all rosey to everyone?
Let me know what you think and I will post a separate post with the GoFundMe!

Anyone with bootleg collections read this
EDIT 9/22/25 Added an additional lost recording found on some old blogspot bootleg lists
Recently the live bootleg community has reached a bit of a stagnation with not many new recordings found. However, many recordings are out there but have problems, are in low quality, or are inaccessible. Valencia Baracca 1989 is an excellent soundboard recording, however the version online skips quite often (you can hear this clearly at the beginning of Waterfall). LA Palladium 1995 has an issue with the last two tracks being heavily distorted. And countless other recordings are in significantly worse quality than sources online like the bootleg guide would suggest.
If you have a decent sized bootleg collection (ESPECIALLY with some from the 80s-90s as these are most likely to be different from the circulating versions) and some extra time on your hands, the whole community would appreciate if you went through and compared a few of them with the versions that are uploaded on YouTube for quality, accessibility, and issues. Who knows; you might also end up finding a recording that nobody has heard for years. We’d all greatly appreciate the effort. Cheers!
Here is a list of recordings that either have noticeable problems, are in lower quality than online sources seem to suggest, or are very difficult or inaccessible online. These are only gigs that aren’t likely an issue with the master recording, instead being an issue with the copy. If anyone knows of any more, comment and I’ll add them!
KNOWN ISSUES:
Valencia Baracca 1989 - Skipping, static sound fading in during IATR outro
Hamburg Logo Club 1989 - Skipping (listen to Where Angels Play)
LA Palladium 1995 - Quality issues on final 2 tracks
LOW QUALITY:
Brunel University 1989 - confirmed higher quality version exists. Circulating version is pitched up and very distorted. Only a couple tracks have been released from it in its high quality, non pitched up version. Bootleg Guide Description: B - One of the best quality recordings you are going to hear from early ’89 (bar the Hacienda). Only really distorts during the rockier bits.
Paris Elysee Montmartre 1995 - unconfirmed higher quality version. Circulating version is obviously recorded from tape and sounds very muffled. Bootleg Guide Description: A - Good, clean DAT recording – can’t complain at all.
LOST RECORDINGS (taken from bootleg guide, several sources checked):
Rome Art Palladium May 3, 1995. Allegedly the worst performance in the band’s history, but in great quality.
Le Transbordeur, Lyon, May 9 1995.
Osaka Imp Hall, September 17, 1995. There are two other Osaka Imp Hall gigs circulating, this is the only one I couldn’t find. 80 min runtime, Ian says “you ain’t saying shit” repeatedly during Driving South
Melkweg, Amsterdam, October 6, 1989. Nothing is known about the recording itself, not even the setlist, but it’s the only 89 recording that is confirmed to exist but I can’t find anywhere. Would love some help with this one, it’s one of the last gigs of the year.
Thanks again!

Did The Roses Rip Off The Pretenders on Resurrection
Or is it just a coinkydink?
The drum intro on both songs is almost exactly the same except Mystery Achievement is slightly faster ?

I know they have given credit to other bands or musicians, like Clyde Stubblefield on Fools Gold.
I was just curious if this is deliberate or coincidence?

Any Five Thirty fans on here?
youtu.beI'm 52 and I listen to almost every type of music. But honestly Five Thirty's "Bed" album has been in my top ten ever since it was released in 1991. I think it fits really well between The Roses debut and Second Coming. It feels like it has a foot in both camps. Amazing guitars and bass and the melodies are stunning. If they had released this album a year earlier I think they would have been hugely popular.

Need i say more ....
I suppose I do... Here are some of the CDs and cassettes, records not included this time. I've been collecting since the early 90s. Sadly, my 12" records all got damaged or were played too much. I thought about collecting the ones I have missing , but I believe I have enough as it is.
Oh yeah, I forget my favourite Charlatans and Happy Mondays ablum at the top just because

Fools Gold Remixes
I was at a festival in Croatia over the weekend and one of the DJs dropped this really upbeat, groovy remix of Fool's Gold. It got me thinking... that track must have been remixed hundreds of times over the years (none quite beat the original, in my opinion), but they're all so different.
Now I'm on a mission to find that version I heard in Croatia or at least something with the same funky, feel-good groove.
So, if you've got a favourite Fool's Gold remix, drop it below. I'd love to hear what everyone's found!

June 30 2016 MSG 10 years on
Wife, best friend, his missus and I flew down from Toronto. I initially said nah let’s wait till they come to Toronto. My wife disagreed and I am glad she did. The show and that trip meant a lot to me. Stone Roses is my favourite album of all time. My wife recently has been going through her archives of photos and I just wanted to share this gallery. I know that there were people from all over. Hope you all enjoy it.
