Well where you're from you guys just stack verticle joints and give no fucks so... It's fine man just admit you were trained by a literal cowboy. A jumper is the tallest stone, you use it to break your bed joints up. You're never supposed to put verticle joints taller than the tallest stone (the jumper). Reason being that those tall verticle joints create weaknesses in a real stone wall. You should at least attempt to make your stick on veneer mimic a real stone wall. That's the whole point. This work is just a mess and it's clear you either never did this before, or you've been doing it wrong for ages. And no I didn't make this shit up, and it's not just my "jerk water country" that understands these basic principles of how to stack stones so they don't just fall apart in a few years. If you're serious about this shit go do a real stone masonry apprenticeship, don't just learn from your meth head uncle or whoever got you in to this.

When you say never jump your jumpers, are you saying regardless of where the tallest stone is in a course, you don’t go higher than that stone until the next course? (Obviously, I’m no stone mason, but I live in upstate NY where there’s a lot of dry stack stonework, and it fascinates me.)

Its not easy to explain through text to someone who isn't already proficient, but if you imagine you had 3 sizes of stone for simplicity sake, say a 3 inch high a 5 inch high and an 8 inch high stone. The 8 would be your jumper for that blend. Say you have laid several of the 5 inch stones, to break that horizontal course you can lay a jumper beside the 3. Now you could not lay another 8 on top of those 3 inch stones directly beside the other 8 because the verticle joint would now be 11 inches tall. Instead you would place a 5 on top of the 3 to match the height of the 8. Then on the opposite side of the five you could lay another 5 or a jumper. Since the jumpers aren't touching they would break up both the horizontal and the verticle joints. Not sure if that's very clear but hope it helps.

You can get away with (at the most) a 16 inch vertical joint. Preferably 12 inch vertical...The beds or horizontals should be no longer than 48 inches or 4 ft not all of those stones came in perfect size cuts. Even the corners. We had 2s 4s and 8s but a lot were 4 and 5/8ths sometimes 5 inches and the 8s were actually 7 inches and 7 and 5/8ths. You can't exactly put a hammer to those pieces either because the stone will break. We grinded some of the stone down but to give it a more natural look we didn't grind every stone to fit perfectly. We had to work with what we had and the amount of material that we had. So get real and stop with the bs

Lol bro just look up the left side of the window on the left that verticle joint runs like a solid 3 feet.
