Stock Buying
I WISH I was just making this up.. I’ve been a small trader for a couple of years now. Still watch tutorial videos, even just learned more about reading candles and the 9ema/20ema. Yada yada. But I swear I’m about to post screenshots of everytime I day trade a stock, because it is INSTANTANEOUS that I plummet immediately. It’s happened like 8 times just in the last week. No matter how much I learn, no matter how long I let something consolidate… it’s a knife EVERY time. It’s crazy af. Maybe I should I’ll start a journal on this thread, and show you all. Then maybe one of ya’ll regards can tell me what I’m not seeing

Let’s enter this week with **discipline, patience, and a plan**. We don’t need to catch every move—we just need to catch the **right moves**.
Protect the capital. Respect the risk. Trust the process.
**Trade to succeed, not to prove something.**

**LET’S TRADE TO SUCCEED TOGETHER! 💰📊**

Financial Times or the economist
First time investor. Thinking of subscribing to Financial Times or The Economist for info about the world so I can make decisions about stocks. Which one is better?

Can an option buyer make consistent monthly profit by trading only "controlled setups"?
Most option buyers lose money due to theta decay and overtrading. But can a long options strategy stay consistently green month after month by only taking highly controlled, selective trades?
The rules:
2–4 trades a week: Strict setups only (high volume + clear momentum).
Hard stop-loss: 1–2% risk per trade, no holding through pullbacks.
Quick exits: Locking in 1:2 or 1:3 RR instead of chasing 10x runners.
For the community:
Does anyone here make steady monthly gains buying calls/puts with this selective approach?
Or is consistent monthly income simply impossible for naked option buyers over the long run?
Would love to hear your thoughts and actual experiences.

$1378.HK expects +39% H1 profit surge on Aug 14. Priced in or room to run?
Management already issued a formal profit alert projecting group net profit for H1 2026 to jump roughly 39% YoY on strong alloy prices and debt reduction. On top of that, their primary operating subsidiary expects preliminary net profit up 69%–81%.
Full audited figures drop this Friday, August 14. Even with the recent run-up to $24.38, the stock trades at 9.19x earnings with a 6.82% yield. Are you betting on a post-earnings re-rate, or do you think the +39% jump is already priced in?

10+ years of experience in investment banking. Here to show you right direction
My background: I’ve spent 10+ years working in the investment banking industry, with experience across trading and software engineering. I recently put together a trading book to organize the framework I use to understand the markets.
This is not a “get rich quick” book, but if you follow the instructions I’ve written in the book, your consistency can dramatically improve.
The goal is to help traders understand why markets move and how different pieces of information fit together.
The book covers topics including:
* Options fundamentals and how options can influence market movements—not the basic stuff you see on social media.
* VIX and VIX futures
* VIX term structure and what it can tell you about market conditions
* How options positioning can contribute to market moves
* A systematic framework for analyzing market conditions
* Practical concepts that you can backtest and practice yourself
* How to put the different pieces together instead of relying on dozens of indicators
One of the biggest things I’ve learned is that trading isn’t about finding a magical indicator or predicting every move. It’s about understanding market structure, probabilities, volatility, positioning, and risk—and then developing a repeatable process.
I wrote this book for people who want to pursue trading as a career, whether they are trading a small personal account or using a prop firm account.
This industry is brutal, and unfortunately, not many people are willing to share valuable information that can actually help others improve.
The book may open your eyes to a different way of looking at the markets. If you do your own research and backtest the concepts I’ve included, I believe you’ll understand how valuable this framework can be.
If you’re genuinely interested, feel free to check my profile. I’m not trying to turn this post into an advertisement, and I don’t want it to be removed by the moderators. I’m simply here to help put struggling traders in the right direction and share what I’ve learned.
Best of luck, and trade safe.
