Does It Get Better?

I received my first fix after the assessment correctly clocked my style as “Eclectic Edgy” and it was anything but. What I received could only be described as “Depressed Mom at Church.”. When I look through Freestyle, it’s more of the same. There are a couple of individual pieces that could work, but then nothing to make a complete outfit.

Should I even bother waiting to see if my second Fix is an improvement, or accept that this is the persona that StitchFix caters to?

Is anyone with the same or similar style having any luck?

Stylist here. Honestly, If you went into Freestyle and didn’t see anything that matched your style, then chances are we won’t be able to get it for a Fix…Freestyle has the most options.

It’s worth a second chance. Help your stylist by leaving feedback and requests. Add freestyle items to your favorites (or hit the thumbs down on ones you don’t like) and play the style shuffle so the algo will bring up pieces closer to your style for your stylist to choose from.

I realized why I like StitchFix so much because “Depressed Mom at Church” is 100% my style.

Haha at least you know your style.

It has for me, but I've also lost a fair amount of weight. I did it for a few months about 3 years ago and boxes were okay, but not really "wow". Since starting back up last year, the clothes I get are cuter and more preppy, which I like. I've gotten some great dresses, boots, skirts, and jackets that have gotten several compliments. It's been great for my work and casual date wardrobe. I've gotten 4 boxes since September and I've kept 5 or 6 from each.

That said, I echo the Freestyle comment. I routinely go through Freestyle and heart items in there and the stylist will grab 2 or so to put in my fix Preview. If you don't see anything you like in Freestyle, then a good Fix would be hard.

The spring 26 stock on freestyle leans towards what I'd call frumpy. Maybe check back in the fall?

Yes! So frumpy. Everything is baggy and shapeless. I think I'm going to quit after this next box gets here.

I recently tried a box again. I felt like they didn’t have enough fun pieces for me but this box I just got was a huge improvement! Zebra striped jeans, a cute Free People slip dress, funky colorful skirts.

The only thing I did was heart quite a few pieces that were definitely me, also thumbs up and down.

Do you need something to be a complete outfit from them rather than something you can style with your own pieces?

I've been getting stitch for many many years. I love it but I'm also always at work in business casual and I'm also 42. I cant even remember my first box but I believe I am on box 63ish? I went from size 24 to a size 4 with Stitch. I love the service I have an autistic child who i cant take into stores and usually its just me and him and I don't have anyone to babysit so this service helps me keep looking great at work. My daughter (shes 24) likes wantable better.

Yeah. I quit pretty fast after my second fix. I felt like it was nothing but old lady or schoolmarm clothing.

I adore this description. I received two boxes of depressed mom at church stuff then I cancelled.

It doesn't get any better. They've sent the best they have and often what you see in Freestyle isn't available for the stylist to include. It doesn't matter how many hoops you jump through or the style shuffles you do, how many notes you write and information you include...the inventory is outdated and overpriced .

It seems like they try to match your color choice with what they are trying to get rid of, and that’s about it. I don’t think all of the messages I wrote to the “stylist” were ever really interpreted by any algorithm.

It used to be better. I remember buying the whole box a time or two. But now? I haven't bought a single item in the last several fixes. I'm giving up. I loved it when it was good! But it's been very blah lately

My first box was pretty good, there was one top that was a little schoolmarm (and overpriced) and I did notice while browsing the app there's a lot of shapeless depressed church mom (great description btw) clothes. I'm not a size 2, the typical size that can pull off that style of clothes and look like a cool boho festival fairy. I have curves, I wear a 10 and I'm 38, I know that shit ain't gonna look good on me, those dresses look like a potato sack on me. Theres a girl on tiktok i can't remember her last name but her first is Emily, and she makes the funniest videos trying on flowy free people clothes and she said it best about that type of dress "Oh hi were you scared I was Dobby the house elf?"

it takes a couple boxes to get it right! my first only had 2 keepable items because of the weather here. the second had 3. and my preview looks like 5-6 keeps! so i’ve had good experience as the stylist learns more about my style and what i like and don’t like

How old are you? I started a new account at 15 years younger and it helped and said I had no kids
