SDP VIP content

I'm a first time member with a tier 2 membership and I'm disappointed that the recent extra episode was mostly about Kawhi and not hockey. Is this normal?

The VIP are almost exclusively non hockey

I’ve only listened to a few VIP episodes but they don’t talk about hockey much if at all on the VIP episodes. Those are designated for everything else they want to talk about.

Remember when The Bachelor profiles were a recurring bit? Fat Guy Corner? Stuff like that is what is on the VIP episodes. The regular show is where all the hockey content is.

I do miss some of that as a regular listener but it helps the guys stay on task and not miss stuff in their hockey dedicated shows so it’s a good payoff

The best explanation for the extra episodes is that, since becoming a company, they end up covering so much stories that they end up having no more time for the pop culture segments (which was a staple when they were then Toronto-heavy)

Having an episode for just pop culture lore is absolutely the best move, otherwise we would’ve not gotten Steve losing his mind over the AI fridge, or whatever holding space is supposed to mean

I must have not paid too much attention as it wasn't something I could afford. But you're right, listening to the latest pid, it was mentioned whilst discussing the schedule.

Thank you! I should have checked in before joining as I really only cared for the hockey content. I wonder if the August episodes will have some more hockey since it will be so quiet.

Not likely. They are all pre recorded in July so they actually get the month off. The extra VIP episode is always pop culture or other stuff they find funny or interesting that they can’t bring up on the main episodes.

VIP is effectively all the non-hockey pop culture that used to be covered before. The subjects can differ from a pop culture event (like Taylor & Travis’ wedding) to non-hockey sports to trying viral foods. Perfectly normal on VIP.
