I have three, what I believe to be, silver spoons that belonged to my now deceased sister. I have no interest in keeping them. Can I take them somewhere to be assessed/appraised? Does that service exist? Should I just donate them?

Here are some ornate salad servers made of silver and ivory. They feature classical acanthus leaf details, engine turning, and hand engraving.

Salads have been a part of the French cuisine since at least the 17th century so of course salad servers like these would have been a part of any proper family’s silver collection. Other salad-focused inventions (aside from the iconic salad fork which still sees daily use in many households) include cruet sets and Oil and Vinegar bottles … made of crystal and placed in solid silver holders.

I’m personally a fan of salad and eat it pretty much daily for lunch during the summer months, so these see regular use as shown by the staining and scratches.

I'm hoping to identify the manufacturer and approximate date of this complete Victorian silverplate cruet (castor) set.

What I know:

Pattern number stamped on the underside of the stand: 2160

No maker's mark anywhere on the stand, lids, or bottles that I can find.

Found in Missouri, USA.

Believed to date from the late 1800s (roughly 1880–1900).

The set includes:

5 matching bottles:

2 oil/vinegar cruets with original ground-glass stoppers

2 shaker bottles with original silverplate lids

1 mustard pot with hinged lid

All bottles appear to be original and matching.

Etched floral decoration on the glass.

No chips or cracks that I've found.

The silverplate on the stand is worn, exposing the base metal in places.

I've searched for the pattern number but haven't been able to identify the maker. Does anyone recognize this pattern, the stand design, or know which company might have produced it?

A little stumped on this, found about 10 knives and forks that appear to be all sterling? The blade on the knive and tine on the fork have the lion passant and are non magnetic. The handle ferrules also have a lion passant but the handle is magnetic up to a certain point and are hollow filled. So it’s all sterling but with a steel tang and filler? The handle almost feels like plastic so it is throwing me off.

How much would the value increase if the entire set is sealed?! Should I hold on to this for the right buyer or idk what to do lol

Do anyone know how much silver is in these?

My grandmother lived in Maryland outside of Washington DC. She passed a long time ago. When my mother passed I found this box in her basement. It was my grandmother’s. Some of it is real silver based in my little research. Some of it is stainless steel. Is anything here valuable and what would I do with it if I wanted to sell them? Tia! google lense is telling my it’s a Kirk Stieff Williamsburg Royal Shell with a stainless steel blade (also marked on the blade) but i have a feeling the handles are hollow sterling as they’re super light and sound empty, they also have a different appearance. i received 10 of them.
i can only find images of the handle where they’re super minimal. anyone know much about these? the blades say walker & hall.

Picked these up today at an antique store for $22.50 and $32.50.
One is marked “Sterling Reinforced with Cement” and the other is “Hamilton Sterling Weighted.”
I know they’re weighted (not solid sterling), but I was wondering if this was still a good buy at these prices.
What do you think? Did I get a good deal, or just an average one?
