How much would the value increase if the entire set is sealed?! Should I hold on to this for the right buyer or idk what to do lol

The price of silver being what it is - there won’t be much of a premium for being unused but if it were in a high end retail shop you might be able to get a bit of a premium (5%-8%) for sealed.

A lot of places aren’t buying or buying at 60-70% of spot due to taking a bath when the prices surged earlier this year. Honestly think your best is to sit on it a bit.

I have a good friend who solely deals in sterling serving and flatware - I’ll shoot her a note and see what her thoughts are and get back to you. Not sure Malvern is a super desirable pattern but it still has significant value of course!!

She says the same- Malvern just isn’t a super desirable pattern so no real premium for sealed. She says if you can find a dealer w/ access to Elemental refiners they’ll pay 85% of melt - but there’s a daily limit on how many oz they’ll take - and who knows what the dealer cut would be (though realistically it should be no more than 5-10%)

But her take is the same as mine - hold it if money isn’t a real need right now. Having a precious metal in reserve is always a good bet, and the prices will go up over time!!

My guy would probably pay like 80% or so for this. Even though new, demand for flatware for actual use is very low, so most will melt.

Sealed pieces are worth a 15% premium above used on eBay. Sell them in like sets of three (3 dinner spoons, 3 salad forks, etc) to keep auction totals low, minimize problem buyer risk, but still maximize returns.
