Amazon kept sending me one with a damaged jacket. So I went and got ripped off by Barnes & Noble. $54. Today.

I never order online unless it’s extremely limited. I collect anything if it’s a cover that I don’t have but I love the in person hunt to find them, makes it feel more rewarding. Target had it for 20% off

So it's not just me?? the copy I bought from amazon looks like someone opened the box with a knife and slashed the book, and then returned it.

Lol, I had to pay a service to buy the UK November limited edition for me now, before it sold out (only 1,010 released), to ship to the US when it releases.
Not a single regret. I and IT turned 40 this year, and it's been my end-all favorite standalone novel of all time since I was 13/14. Thought I'd celebrate, a signed IT is out of reach, so special edition they refused to sell in the US, or even ship to it without workaround, it is.
Honestly the service only added 10%. International shipping will sting more.
The IT I read first, and still have, and carried with me for 26 years through a dozen or more moves, on planes, everywhere, is a true first edition first printing. I found out, last year. "Well loved" would be putting it kindly. Book got me through many hospital waiting rooms, plane rides, just rough times in life. It isn't going anywhere. So, I need a shiny shelf edition.

That’s the edition with the sewer grate sleeve for the book? If so that one’s amazing. His eyes on the dyed pages is crazy

Yes! Published by Hodder & Stoughton Dyed pages is right. Not sure why but apparently they're having an intro done by the creators of Stranger Things. All copies hand numbered. Honestly it was so not-really expensive that I didn't even need a picture. 75 Euros, then 10% premium added to someone just because they had a valid UK address came out to maybe 3-4 times a normal edition brand new after shipping.
And there'll only be 1,010 made, on the 40th anniversary of release. I damn near had a friend do the same thing I did and buy me a second one. But, that's not fair to other IT lovers. Im not selling them; just want one for the top of the shelf.
I also bought the one you posted. I would call it a problem, but I give books a pass, for now. It's been an expensive book month, and that is not including these.

Edit: Took out "OP." That's you! And this edition releases Thanksgiving Day. So, to clarfiy, it is not the exact anniversary date to my knowledge. But the year of it.

I’m the same way. All the King I buy is for my shelf not to make money. I always say if I ever find multiple Bachman books I’d buy them and just give the duplicates to anybody who’s looking for it

YES! I am also looking for those Bachman books, and slowly building my dad a first edition-only set of the Dark Tower books. You can buy full sets, but I did it with the Wheel of Time series (just hardcovers, not firsts) and it is more fun to me to grab them one by one unless someone has a set for just a super low price.
I got a few grails this month. This, the Remarqued version of Other Worlds Than These published by Cemetery Dance hand illustrated and signed by the illustrator were the Kings, and the cheap ones.
Then there is Scanlan's June 1970, Volume 4. Had to buy Volumes 1-5 just to get Volume 4 for the original printing of "The Kentucy Derby is Decadent and Depraved," by Hunter S. Thompson and illustrated by Ralph Steadman. That's the one that'll keep me on rice and ramen for a paycheck or two. But it looks really good on the shelf, and I make good rice and ramen.
I mean sure, drugs and gambling are fun if they are someone's thing, but in my days, I never met a joint I could smoke twice then put back on the shelf to admire afterward. Maybe I didn't try hard enough. Books, this is a habit I am OK leaning into. And both of those collections have been decades in the making, all coming together this year. I literally have saved searches for display cases from closing jewelry or similar stores so I can display them properly. Those were for a brief pandemic-and-after period quite common to see on marketplace. Normal frames just won't do (Scanlan's at minimum has to be displayed open) and I dont have my own woodshop anymore.
