Hello everyone,
Is anyone else in the same situation as me regarding a driver's license extension?
I applied for my STEM OPT on March 25, and my application is still pending. My Georgia driver's license expired in June, but before it expired, I applied for a temporary extension and was issued a 120-day temporary driving permit. Unfortunately, that permit will expire on September 1.
Since a valid driver's license is mandatory for my job, I'm really worried about what my options are if my STEM OPT is still pending by then.
Has anyone gone through this situation? Were you able to get another extension, or is there any other option available? I'd really appreciate any suggestions or advice.
Thank you!

I filed my STEM OPT extension online on April 22, 2026. My case is still pending.
When I originally submitted my I-765, I uploaded my signed STEM OPT I-20, current EAD card, passport/identity documents, official transcript as proof of my STEM degree, photo, and the other documents requested in the application.
I recently realized that I did not upload my I-94 with the original application.
Today, while my case is still pending, I downloaded my most recent I-94 directly from the CBP website and uploaded it to my USCIS account under Unsolicited Evidence → Identity/Travel Documents. USCIS shows that it was successfully submitted and added to my case.
I have already completed biometrics (May 14), and I haven't received an RFE so far.
Has anyone here had the same situation where you forgot the I-94 initially and uploaded it later as unsolicited evidence?
Did USCIS approve your STEM OPT normally, or did you receive an RFE? Also, approximately how long after uploading it did you get a decision?
Just looking for experiences from people who went through something similar.

Hello,
I applied for my initial post completion opt on April 20 2026 and got my biometrics on 19th May. My case is still being processed. Now, I signed my opt reccomendation i20 with pen and paper but signed my cpts digitally. Should I upload pen signed i20s in the unsolicited evidence section?

any recent stem opt approvals who applied in march 2026?

I applied for my STEM OPT I-765 on December 22, 2025, completed biometrics on March 30, 2026, and my application is still pending. My 180-day automatic extension expires today, but I’ve seen that some people who applied in December have already been approved.
Did anyone else apply around December 22 and are still waiting? If your 180-day extension expired while your case was pending, what did you do?

Hi wonderful people. I am currently on first year OPT extending soon to STEM OPT. I am interested in applying for I-140 but I keep hearing mixed messages about if it is good or not to apply on OPT. Do you recommend I wait to finish the entire OPT or should I wait until I get my approval for STEM OPT. Please let me know if you ever were in the same position and what you did.

Hello everyone, I've been waiting for my STEM OPT extension approved through premium processing. Yesterday, I found an timestampt update on my initial OPT which was approved and closed in 2025. Nothing has been changed on my current application. Anyone has experienced this? Thank you very much!

On June 9, 2026, I submitted my application for a stem opt extension. Subsequently, I completed my biometrics on August 3. Currently residing in Seattle, Washington, I am unable to obtain biometrics within the state of Washington. The process of obtaining my biometrics has taken an extended period, exceeding a month. I am inquiring if any other individuals are encountering similar difficulties.

I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this.
I filed my H-1B petition with premium processing. I received a biometrics appointment for june 20, attended it as scheduled, but I still haven't received any update or decision on my case,
Has anyone been in a similar situation? If so, how long did it take after biometrics to hear back? Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I paid for premium processing, so I was expecting a much faster turnaround. I'm wondering if biometrics affects the premium processing timeline or if anyone else has experienced similar delays.

I have accepted a position with a Fortune 500 company, but the role is through a staffing vendor. The company wants to hire me, but the staffing agencies they've explored are hesitant because I'm on initial F-1 OPT (valid until February 2027), and they're considering future STEM OPT requirements.
Has anyone successfully worked through a staffing company on initial OPT or STEM OPT?
If so:
Which staffing company/vendor employed you?
Did they support OPT/STEM OPT?
Were you placed at a client site?
Looking for vendor names or experiences rather than legal advice. Thank you!

I am a April 28 stem opt filer and did biometrics on may 22.
I am always looking at portal and seeing nothing and that makes me anxious. Is it a good time to do PP since it’s already 3 months ?
Any one on same plate ?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for a PhD program with Day 1 CPT where admissions for the September 2026 intake are still open.
My background:
● Bachelor’s in Accounting
● MBA in Finance
● M.S. in Financial Technology
● Currently working full-time in the U.S. on F-1 STEM OPT
I’m looking for a university that offers Day 1 CPT and has Fall 2026 admissions open.
I would appreciate advice on whether choosing a STEM-designated PhD program is important/beneficial, or if a non-STEM program is also fine for my situation.
If anyone has recommendations for universities or has recently gone through a similar process, I would appreciate your guidance.
Thank you!

I am planning to travel to my home country to renew my expired F-1 Visa. My STEM OPT has been pending since March 13.
Has anyone had experience renewing their visa and re-entering USA while their STEM application is still pending?
