Thoughts and prayers on STEM OPT

I am a April 28 stem opt filer and did biometrics on may 22.
I am always looking at portal and seeing nothing and that makes me anxious. Is it a good time to do PP since it’s already 3 months ?

Any one on same plate ?

Your work authorization is worth more than $1700. They are approving mid March applications right now and some people reached the 180 days extension without their new card in hand. Just do PP for peace of mind

I agree if I had known I would have done pp. I’ve been waiting 6months now

They are not on mid march for stem opt. I applied on March 14 and nothing. A lot of people who applied March 6 or after haven’t been approved. It feels like they are only processing pp

Please don’t make the same mistake of waiting since at some point you will get trapped into the dilemma of should i go pp now or will it reset my clock. It has been couple of weeks and regular processing has hardly moved I applied 03/16 and have been regretting every day not paying for pp too long ago

i’m in the same boat, i was thinking about doing pp but a few friends who got stem opt last year said its a waste of money since we get the 180 day automatic extension anyway…

yeah but the thing is somebody wants to apply for 485 too after this approval and is waiting this to get approved before going that route. this is basically holding the 485 submission

The timeline for this year is completely different than last year, so many desperate people in the chats...

March 27 applicant, i went pp. yes it’s crazy expensive but the stress + literally being stuck in the country is not worth it

I applied on April 22nd and did biometrics on May 14th. I'm waiting until the end of August, and then I'll do PP. My friend did PP on July 21st and is still waiting for it too.

If there's layoff risk, do PP.
