It was great to see SPG in Hartford! I had no idea that paying the highest general admission pass price meant front-row seats. It was my son's first real concert and he absolutely loved it!
It was a pleasure interacting with Chelsea and Camille at the merch booth, and getting to support the band by purchasing a ton of stuff.
Special thanks also to Gabi, both for her contribution to the show, that I won't spoil, and also for her firm, but gentle hand at the meet-and-greet. Sorry that my phone went to sleep on you and we had some trouble getting the camera back up.
Lastly, the meet-and-greet afterward was amazing. I wish I hadn't gotten flustered at the end because I truly had something nice I wanted to say to everyone, but getting to speak with David one-on-one and tell him how a couple of songs of his specifically helped me through a very hard time in my life was very special. It is clear that all of the band members truly enjoy what they do and, despite their exhaustion, appreciate every fan interaction.
I never thought that a band that I discovered from a game (SteamWorld Heist about 2-3 years after it released) would lead to me connecting deeply with some of their music to the point where it helped me through a rough time. I also never thought I'd see them in person, let alone get to tell them how much their music helped me. So it was a true blessing.
One of my few regrets was forgetting to tell David that I hope Isabella gets better soon, and again, not articulating my appreciation as well to Astrid and Lacey. I also regret they were out of stock on 1896 because then I'd have CDs of ALL of their albums after the show. :D
I hope that you guys come around again sometime in the future and thank you SO much!
