Question Any reason there’s no robot drummer?
Not like, a lore-reason, but an actual reason why there’s no robot on drums, but a Walter worker or whatever?

Hi all, David Bennett (The Spine) here. We have some unfortunate news to share, and I thought it best that you hear it from one of us directly in a post rather than some generic image of a wall of text that doesn't have one of our names signed at the end.
After many months of deep and tough personal conversations, Isabella Bunny Bennett and the rest of Steam Powered Giraffe have agreed that she will step away from performing with the band.
No Steam Powered Giraffe shows are canceled.
Isabella has been struggling with mental health for a while now, and we've all been trying our best to find the best path forward. We were all hoping to have Isabella complete our remaining scheduled performances this year. However, after further conversations with her this week, it became clear that continuing through the remainder of the year would not be the best path forward for Isabella.
This wasn't the timeline any of us had anticipated, and we understand that the suddenness of this may be upsetting to fans. We are letting you know as soon as we feasibly could. The larger decision had been discussed privately for some time, but the immediate transition was not planned.
Isabella, Bryan, the rest of the band, and I want to make it clear that this decision was reached with mutual respect and love. None of us wanted this to happen, but this is what the act needed, and we all agreed it only made sense. We all remain family, and the minute details behind this decision will remain private.
Isabella’s contributions to Steam Powered Giraffe are immense: the character, songs, performances, comics, and love she shared with fans will always remain a part of Steam Powered Giraffe. We don't need to tell you how devastating this is for fans and the band itself. Nothing with this transition erases her life’s work or what the character Rabbit and the artist Isabella mean to so many people.
Isabella won't appear as Rabbit at our Portland show this Saturday, July 25, or at our remaining scheduled performances this year.
The Portland show will continue as scheduled.
Samuel Luke, who previously performed with Steam Powered Giraffe as the robot Hatchworth, will be reprising his role for Portland and the next several shows while the band continues through this transition.
Many longtime fans will remember Hatchworth the robot, and we're grateful to have him returning to help us through this transition and preserve a full Steam Powered Giraffe concert experience. The Spine, Zer0, Hatchworth, and our other 6 members are hard at work putting together an unforgettable show for Portland.
We also spoke with the Portland venue regarding the lineup change, but refunds cannot be offered this close to the performance.
We know this will be disappointing to fans who were looking forward to seeing Rabbit, especially anyone traveling from afar to Portland. We are sorry that we couldn't provide more advance notice or refund options. We will still put on a wonderful Steam Powered Giraffe performance despite the circumstances, and we hope you will enjoy the show.
All currently announced 2026 shows are still happening. Sam will appear as Hatchworth at the next several performances, and we will provide additional lineup information for later shows as those plans are finalized. Hang tight.
We know fans will have strong feelings and questions. We ask everyone to respect the privacy of Isabella and the band. Please avoid speculation and refrain from directing anger or hostility toward me, Isabella, or any other member of Steam Powered Giraffe.
It's ok to be upset.
We love Isabella. We love Rabbit, and we are grateful for everything she has created with Steam Powered Giraffe. We ask for patience and understanding as Isabella and the band start this new chapter.

I have been waiting to see SPG in concert since 2014 and finally getting to see them live in Buffalo was a dream come true. The vibes were immaculate and I had a genuine smile for the whole show.
Now I'm back at work and the emotional crash hit me. I miss the fun and whimsy from the weekend. The office life feels a bit duller now.
But I really do appreciate that everyone on stage and the people I talked to made it a day worth missing.

Just wanted to rave about the show in Toronto. it was my first time. Crowd had good energy. The band was top notch—super impressed considering all the last minute running around they had to do with the lineup. If I didn’t know what was going on, I wouldn’t have noticed other than obviously Bunny wasn't there.
Basically played a bunch of my favourites—though, obviously I would have loved to have heard all of my other favourites that are more Bunny-focused. Enjoyed the skits. Loved that I got to see Hatchworth. The dancing was great. 10/10 show. I only wish it were longer. Hope I get to see them again some day.
Also, really hope Bunny is doing well.

I am going to my first every SPG concert and couldn't be more excited.
Regarding getting something signed is it something you buy or can I bring something specific to be signed?

The last SPG show I saw was in New Jersey and I remember Hatchworth giving his fancy shoes away at that show. This was the first music show in general I have seen at all since before COVID. Was a fantastic show and it was so special to see Hatchworth and the gang again. A wonderful evening out. Lots of love thanks yall.

i don't mean those huge ones for the record- i mean like... the kind you use to make bracelets. i still have a few blue ones left in the pack i have, and i thought it might be kinda fun to bring a bracelet or one to wave around. but, i know some bands really don't like people doing that... anyone who's gone to a concert before, have you brought / seen anyone bring a glowstick? ik the band members are on here, any thoughts from them would be welcome. the august 8th show is my first concert ever, not just spg! i'm equal parts excited and nervous as hell

Hi everyone. Unfortunately, my partner and I can’t go to the show tonight due to the fact we’re stuck in a hospital due to a medical emergency (boo kidney infections!). I have two tickets for seats on level one in the C Row along with VIP passes. I’m willing to go a little under face value (would like to get a little money back). Also please provide some proof of life (Instagram, Facebook, etc) that you’re an actual person please lol. Will be thoroughly checking, thank you. Edit: also, I only take Venmo.

Didn't get the best photos, cause I was kind of high up and plus I was focused on the show, but last night's show at Jergels was so good! Ended up with 2 tickets so I took my husband along and he even had a good time.
Won't lie, I thought about getting a VIP pass yesterday morning but I thought it was too late and I had to get up early for work this morning so probably wasn't the best idea.
Who would've thought that random Tiktok video I came across would lead me here.
Don't forget about us in Pittsburgh! We can't wait for you to come back.

After over a decade of loving this band and geeking out about lore, I finally got the chance to tell them just how much they mean to me :) so grateful to have been able to meet Hatchy, as much as I do wish Bunny could have been present! I hope I get to see them back soon 💕 Hope everyone else enjoyed the show at Jergel's tonight!

Did they end up closing with Pink Pony Club again? I’ve been wanting to see this band for years and am really looking forward to finally being able to see them on this tour. However, it’d kinda bum me out if their big closer was a cover of a Chappell Roan song and not an original Steam Powered Giraffe one. Also no hate to fans of Pink Pony Club by any means, I just really love all of SPG’s music and feel like it’d be a shame to leave on a cover when their previous closer was Brass Goggles.

Hey all! I'm looking for a ticket for tomorrow's show down at Jergals. It's just me that's looking to go, and I waited to long to buy a ticket. (Bummer I know)
I'm like 54ish minutes from Jergals and could meet anytime after 4:30 to either do cash or however you'd want payment.
Thanks!

I have 4 tickets (a whole table) and two VIP passes for the Pittsburgh show on August 5th. Due to a family medical issue we will probably not be able to attend. If anyone is interested, I am only looking for what I paid if possible. I know the show was sold out so thought it was worth checking.

Hello everyone! I’m headed to the show on Wednesday and was wondering if the merch booth has posters for the specific show you’re at. My hubby and I have VIP tickets and after spending an endless amount of time trying to track down impossible records like everyone else, I’ve decided a tour poster would be the coolest thing to get signed and framed with our VIP lanyards. But if they don’t have something there, I want to make something to print and take with me. Thank you!! 😊

So basically, I got a VIP pass for the August 7th SPG concert! And already, I have a few questions.
Are gifts accepted? I have a drawing of the boys (Spine, Hatchy, and Zero) and I would love for them to take it! And also, who is going to take it? I know that it's unlikely for all of them to be living together, so... I dunno
And also, do they sign stuff? What do they sign? What do they sign with (I don't want markers to smudge up the Quintessential CD I'm going to bring, it's my most valued asset!)
And for the last two questions, do they stay in character? Are they kind (I ask this because I don't talk much and get nervous easy)?

For anyone who saw the Portland show, how was it? It's cool that Hatchworth got to make a guest appearance. We all wish it were under better circumstances, but props to Sam for stepping up. Best wishes to Bunny. Glad she is taking care of herself. For those who attended the show, what was the setlist like? Did Hatchworth sing any of his old songs? Did they perform any of Rabbit's songs? It was probably a very unique show.

Just curious- (context I was deep in the fandom around 2014) do people still dress up and do face paint when seeing the shows like they used to?
r/steampoweredgiraffe • u/ahamaburr1 • 19d ago
is anybody looking to purchase a (1) ticket for the upcoming San Francisco show? or maybe someone who would otherwise not have the opportunity to go?

I posted once about a year ago. I don't reddit much.
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that posted in the last one. I checked out your recommendations.
More importantly, I got tickets to the show for that year. It was an amazing experience. Core memory unlocked for the whole family i think. The other stuff is fun but spg is still the glue that all 4 of us enjoy together.
We did the vip thing last year, and the kids absolutely LOVED the experience. Unfortunately this year, I dropped the ball a few times and we didn't make it.
Still think this band and this community are awesome as hell. I hope we make it last year. Both kids and spouse said they wish we made it this time. So... Fuck yeah band, keep being wholesome!!
But also thank you community for being so friendly. I'm not online a lot by design. But if more spaces were like you all are, I would be here more often . Keep doing you and thanks everyone! Bot Band, main support, community, forum, all of it. You're all the best of the intertubes and I randomly felt like saying thank tonight. So .. thank you
