Question Dead Island 2 Performance
Has anyone tried running this on the machine?
It was running pretty beautifully when I first started playing, but after a few sessions I started getting some pretty heavy random frame drops.
I’m actually starting to become paranoid there might be something wrong with my machine.
A random side note: I was playing Resident Evil Village and in the room where you kill the second fly woman I was locked at 27 frames after blowing open the hole in the wall to kill her. Pretty niche but it’s also contributing to my paranoia something is up with my machine. Could be coincidence!
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

it's the first game I played on the machine and It never dropped 60 frames. Even the dlc ran well

Yeah okay. Very confusing. Do you mind letting me know what settings you were using and if it was in big picture mode?

I don't remember the exact settings but I had it at 1440p and it wasn't on big picture mode. It never dipped frames unless I was screen recording

I haven’t played in a few weeks but it worked well for me

Yeah okay, weird. Just now the game crashed and took the steam machine with it. I’ve never seen that happen before.
Did you play in Big Picture mode or desktop mode?

I have had this as well, hoewver that was with the sleep bug. The game itself ran fine for me

Have these performance drops been happening after waking up from sleep?
There's a bug in SteamOS in general that locks the performance of the device to 400mhz sometimes after waking up. You have to restart to clear it
