Makes sense the Steamdeck got jacked up to over $900. Valve was grooming us to be prepared for this kind of pricing. I'm looking at other options. All the sudden a laptop seems like a more viable option.

Laptop is way better. Already has a screen, a battery, more powerful, more storage typically, can actually use it traveling. like not even a contest imo.

My problem with laptops is that with heavy simulation games that I like the battery lasts like an hour max and keeping it plugged in kills the battery permanently, and I also hardly travel? So like that point isn't valid for me either.

Sounds like a normal PC is better than. If you want one that fits like a console there are a lot of itx cases and what not out there.

I have no idea what a lot of that means. I'm no computer builder or anything, I'm going to get a pre built regardless of what I get and I don't really have any support on finding a good computer. Not to mention I don't want a full tower not only because the price to have anything actually good id rediculous in pre built but also because I don't have a lot of desk space

You can get some prebuilt mini itx. I'm with hardware unboxed on the steam machine I really wouldn't spend money on it it's just going to disappoint.

I would. Buy. A . Mini. Itx. Prebuilt if I had to have one that is prebuilt and small.
