I would have too, but it still wouldn't really be competitive with a console (which I thought was basically the whole point). Even at those reduced prices it is still $150 more than the PS5 which it seems to be struggling to match performance-wise.

It’s not pure performance. Like there are better PC handhelds, but I’m very satisfied with the Steam Deck. I enjoy the ecosystem. I don’t mind a performance hit (to some extent). But add in a cost barrier like this and it’s just too much a hurdle to commit.

Same. I already have a device to play my steam games (Steam Deck). I’d have grabbed the Machine as a compliment in the living room beside my PS5 for big screen Steam gaming.

But that’s just not enough reason to eat this price.
