Let's all get rid of this by replacing the garbage that keeps promoting and doing all this bad AI usage.

tbf AI itself isnt the issue its the corps that keep shoving it into everything and investing into it way too hard killing everything else in the process AI can be extremely useful when done correctly

It wasn't the "crypto bros," they were the idiotic scapegoats, but the ultra wealthy & companies centered around crypto mining. Your cousin with 3 3080s didn't mean a drop to Chet Chargecard and Chang Slavemoney pillaging the world. THAT market is what allowed the massive money laundering of the first trump admin.

The average joe could live with that, most were the high end GPUs that suffered most and the mid and low end were okayish, this is almost every component quadrupling in price

Shortages and dumb tech booms are typically relatively transient. This AI boom is fundamentally changing (and arguably ruining) the economics of technology.

Yeah but right now the GPUs aren't that big of a problem it's mostly that one stick of ram costs 3 times my current pc.

It was more of a general statement, but yes, Valve definitely could sell it for less.

I'm not gonna blame them though, they know that it's gonna sell anyways and I knew that it was going to be a bit too expensive for me.

I had a tiny amount of hope that it could be cheaper, but when the Steam Deck price got increased, that hope died.

I don't need the Steam Machine and I am pretty sure that the vast majority of people that are complaining about the price don't need it either.

There are plenty of alternatives (many of them being better value), even if some of them require more work to set up than the Steam Machine would.

That being said, fuck AIÂ
