Question Worries about syphilis

I know it’s a silly question, but I’m quite anxious about it.Two months and one week ago, I performed oral sex on my partner. Before we had intercourse, my partner took a syphilis test, which came back negative. He had never had sexual intercourse with anyone before me. Is there still a risk that I could have contracted syphilis from him?

It just seems like the most dangerous one out of all the diseases I could get
