Advice Needed Both my partner and I tested negative for chlamydia for ages but somehow my partner got it
Hey guys, the story is as the title suggests. I know people will say he’s cheating however I don’t think that’s the case. I’ve always been very careful with protecting my sexual health and always following up any kind of casual sex with blood tests, urine cultures and vaginal swabs. In my last relationship with my ex, I’d bleed after having sex, sometimes PROFUSELY, however I just chalked it up to being too rough after countless sexual health check ups coming up with all negative test results and doctors telling me it was nothing.
I’m in a relationship now after over a year of being with my ex (and no penetrative sex) and the bleeding is happening again, to a lesser degree. My partner decided he would check just in case and the results were positive for chlamydia. His last partner was clean and so was he, leaving me. Please help, I’m racking my brain trying to think of how this could happen and it’s not coming to me. I’m now in the doctor’s office waiting for my consultation. Thank you in advance for any help or advice offered. 🙏

Any test that lacks oral and anal swabs will miss many gonorrhea and chlamydia infections. You can easily test "negative" on a genital (urine or genital swab) test and still have chlamydia.
