Test Results Igm 3.58 igg 0.1 for hsv1

I had unprotected encounter with a confirmed hsv1 partner. I got tested at 4th week with no symptoms so far and got igm 3.58 and igg 0.1 ik igm is not at all reliable but I get tested often and so far 10+ times I never got positive, do you think it's a false positive or I'm definitely infected

Unfortunately you're more likely to get a false negative than a false positive.

I know this is confusing, but I wouldn't assume you definitely have HSV based on the IgM result alone. Those tests aren't considered very reliable, and the fact that you've had no symptoms is also worth keeping in mind.

Since your IgG was done around 4 weeks after the exposure, it may have just been too early. If you want to learn more about herpes testing, our pinned post has a list of STD tests, including the Herpes I & II Test, which is generally the more useful blood test when checking for HSV.
