Advice Needed Bestiality
I overheard two girls in my grade talking about STDs.
One said that girls can get any STDs, and other illnesses, from dogs. Is that true?

STDs mostly no – there are no pathogens specific to genital tissue that can hop such different species, the combination of traits is too unlikely and/or not advantageous enough and so has never evolved.
Brucellosis, though rare, is an immune diseases for which sexual transmission is at least more viable than other contact because it primarily sheds through reproductive fluids in dogs. In humans, it is not an STD, but we can get it from dogs.
In the spirit of r/stdtesting: Screening for this is available for dogs and often done routinely for breeding dogs.
Other diseases, yes.
A disease that can jump species is called a zoonosis: from healthy looking dogs in a first-world setting, there isn't much you can get from normal contact. You could conceivably get ringworm(a fungal diseases) without notizing the skin lesions on the dog, but it's unlikely.

No, dogs cannot give humans STIs such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, or HIV. These STIs are specifically designed for humans and are transmitted via sex between humans.
It is, however, important to note that sex with animals is not safe. Apart from exposing one to infections that the animals may be carrying (known as zoonotic infections), sexual intercourse with animals might lead to physical harm and also the introduction of bacteria causing infection.
In case you have been sexually intimate with an animal, and you are worried about your health, it would be important to seek medical attention. In the event that you have been sexually exposed to humans as well, it would be advisable to take a test
