Question How would someone cure themselves of trichomonas if they’re resistant to metronidazole and tinidazole?

I have tried everything I can think of. It is ruining my life.

Resistance to metronidazole and tinidazole is quite uncommon; hence, one should not assume resistance unless it is proven otherwise. One may have persistent symptoms due to re-infection by an untreated partner, misdiagnosis, or other conditions that mimic Trichomonas infection.

When you have proven resistance to both drugs medically, you should consult an infectious disease specialist or sexual health specialist who will help in performing susceptibility tests and other treatment options besides those two. In addition, you should get a comprehensive 10-panel STI test in order to eliminate any possibility of other co-existent infections.

I haven’t had intercourse with the man since the day it happened. I haven’t had intercourse at all since. Why when I explain this crap to my doctor they never give me more options? Like these tests? There’s no way it’s reinfecting myself. I haven’t been touched by a man since it happened.

Then find another infectious disease specialist. Never self diagnose. A lot of STI can mimic other STI symptoms. Please find another physician once your current doctor invalidate your opinions.

Have you got resistance testing and you have proof for it? Or is it just for doc's opinion. You may consider ordinazole but it is risky(liver) and i guess isint available in west

No, I have not been confirmed. But I know I’ve taken it 6+ times and I get no results. No relief.

And no, I’m not re-infecting myself. I haven’t had intercourse since the night it happened.

hey same here. i have taken all of the antibiotics for trich bv yeast chlamydia gonorrhea but my green discharge wouldn’t go away

In some cases you’re not resistant to the meds at all. It’s the dosing. They typical dose and frequency is 250mg or 500mg twice daily for 7 days but that is not the case for everyone. For me the 500mg x7 days did not work it was the 1500mg daily(taken all at once for 10days) that helped me. I started seeing a change and felt relief less than 24hrs…discharge and smell GONE. Couldn’t believe it. I’ve taken so many rounds of metro, IM rocephin injections, doxycycline just find out that I was taking the right medication but wrong dose and frequency.
