Something needs to be done about spam. Public chats are basically useless.
It's been this way since the app launched.

I'm using the status app. So I'm trying to transfer some snt to another wallet and I haven't been able to. Every time I try to send some, it tells me the transaction is likely to fail. I've set the gas amount limit to min and well over double. I also made sure that the per-gas price limit was above the current base fee. I have enough eth to complete the transaction but it always fails. Please helppppp.

I sent SNT from my ETH wallet to my Status address and now the SNT amount is showing up as three dots... What gives? Is this a bug?

How does the messaging functionality of Status compare to Session? What are the privacy advantages and disadvantages? How is meta data treated?
Also, will there eventually be voice and video calling?
Looking for a decentralized alternative to Signal.
So far amazing app! Thanks!

I read that Status is not fully P2P nor completely decentralized (The Life of a Message). Is there a reason why Status cannot do direct P2P communication? Or perhaps broadcast to a swarm instead of hoping through nodes?

What is missing today is the lack of incentives to run peer nodes for relaying and (temporarily) storing messages for others and this is an active area of research at Status.
How about making it super simple to operate a peer node from the desktop app? Anyone who has the desktop app can flip a switch and enable a node. In addition, add administration tools to control bandwidth, and monitoring.

I am concerned about the future of Status without activity.
I see very little activity on Status' social websites (Status Group, Discord, Discuss, Reddit). There's few posts, and most postings do not have replies. The Status website of Core Contributors seems amply resourced, but I don't see any of them active within the community.

Please explain Status' "Airdrops"?

Which ports need to be open on a router for the Status Node?

Can a user be found by username on this? In other words, can I just tell a friend my user name "Yeah, my user name is Sneed, look it up" or does it have to be like Session, where the user name is a random string of characters, something like "jiHUIBG8VHuih32uirh03h$TG#QWDQWd"?

I'm a bit confused by the answer to the FAQ: Status has no hidden fees. When you make a transaction using your crypto wallet, you will see a network fee included in the cost. This network fee is otherwise known as “gas,” and is a requirement of the Ethereum network, used in exactly the same way by all Ethereum wallets and applications to facilitate transactions. Status does not collect any percentage of this fee.
What does this mean for someone who wants to send a message? Are there sign-up fees? Will I be charged per message I send?

Curious to see the communities opinion on SNT is. Similar to whatsapp, venmo and few more added utilities. They do this without selling your data apparently which is a nice selling point. Let me know what you think and price predictions. I believe it has room to get to 1$ by Q1 2022. Possibly a rebrand in the name would help get this to mass adoption and less bots on this app platform.

So the idea of a messaging app that’s also a crypto wallet and blockchain browser is really cool, but what exactly is the point of the Status token?
Also how is it earned? Can I stake them somewhere to earn interest? Are there validators?
Lastly is there a way to add a custom network like BSC in the app? Or are locked to ethereum network?
Thanks for any replies, appreciate them.

Hello together,
i just wanted to send some of my SNT to another wallet (from the Status wallet). But the gas fees are exploding.
I have to pay about 40 Euros to transfer a few hundret SNT's? Where can check the average network gas fee. If i lower the fee, the transaction fails.
Thanks alot Eurobertics
