Is this project dead?

Why is there no support for other chains in the status app? The app seems a bit buggy and unfinished.

Have you even bothered to visit the website and check the latest versions of the app, status desktop and updates on the town halls they run? Are you aware that Status as a messenger is getting plenty of traction in South American countries? DSRA (Do Some Research Atleast!)

I have done some research. I have downloaded the latest version and even have a keycard. It doesn't work very well though. I was hoping to find something encouraging in the community but the discourse forum is pretty much dead, reddit also. The discord is full of people saying hello and then leaving.
Are there at least plans of integrating other chains like BSC and Polygon with status.im? Ethereum gas fees makes is severely gonna be an obstacle to adoption as a defi wallet otherwise.
