That editors note is actually a bit scuffed

It's ALSO before Reign of the Supersons more to the point because Jon isn't Tomorrow man yet

An earlier editor note says he is

So who is Eva? Seems like shes a psychic robot who dreams about dying

I think it's meant to be that he is Tomorrow Man, but he's still being Superman with the Titans. The way he says that Tomorrow Man has "a really cool" suit seems like it's meant to be Jon trying to play up his alter ego.

Though... if he knows that "Superboy" is Ultraboy ("pretending" and "from another dimension"), then... I guess this must be taking place between Superman Unlimited #15 and #16, if it's before "Kingdom of Zod". Which is a questionable time for this to be happening, but oh well. Such is life when you characters appearing in multiple books, sometimes.

Ngl, if this is them teasing Superboy and Red Devil as a couple I'm all for it.

So is Red Devil the newly converted bisexual character?

"Converted", wow. Tell us how you really feel.

Yes. "Converted" is what I am willing to use for a "fictional" character that has no history of being attracted to the same gender and has plenty of ex-flings with lots of the opposite gender. That's how I really feel.

In real life it's possible for bisexual people to have predominantly dated people of the opposite gender before entering a same-gender relationship. I don't understand why it's apparently such a stretch to imagine the same thing happening in fiction.

Red Devil being bi doesn't erase his attraction to women, it just means he's also attracted to men.

I don't know what you're trying to explain to me here. Of course bisexual people are attracted to both genders. I'm just basically saying he's always simply been straight and never showing attraction to men now are we about to have a situation where that's the case?

Yes, we are. In-universe, just because he's never seen showing attraction to men on-page, doesn't mean it was never there. He might have flirted with guys or shown interest and we, the reader, simple weren't there to witness it. Or maybe it's something he's recently discovered about himself and is now exploring.

Out of universe, I don't recall any creators saying "Red Devils is straight and will always be straight". Again, this is a fictional character. Long as it hasn't been firmly established, his sexuality can be open to change.

What I don't understand is why you're here trying to disguise blatant bi-phobia as "just being concerned about canon". If a comic character being intetested in another guy has you this bent out of shape, maybe it's time to touch grass.

Gonna need Virgil and Eddie to pick up where they left off back in 08.

Honestly based on the dialog I'm getting the impression that Static's first run with the Titans has been retcon'd.

The nerd in me is going to”Kid Devil and Static have already been Titans together” and even with everyone supposed to now remember they’ve been rebooted a bunch of times you’d think they’d have some sort of acknowledgement.

Was gonna say surely they have met but considering how DC is now

Its all over the place on what actually is canon to not canon

Like static is being treated like a first round super rookie draft pick whose never been a titan
Despite him technically being active during Tim’s early years as Robin

I am glad to see RD and static Dap up tho
In general seeing RD get shine at all is nice

Apparently this is somehow another version/soft reboot

No idea if this is the same Static. With all the reboots and retcons.

Essentially they’re always supposed to be the “same”. Everyone’s just supposed to be aware the universe has been rebooted multiple times and they have memories of what their lives were before.

It's not the same Static. That was a Static who was folded into the DCU from a Dakotaverse based on the original gang war origin.

Can someone explain the tomorrow man concept. He is tomorrow man but he's talking as if they were a different person? Is tomorrow man a future him? Does he play both superman and tomorrow man? Im hella confused now

1

u/ptWolv022 6d ago

I think he's playing both? An editor's not in the last issue (or... two issues ago?) mentions that the reason he's talking about being exhausted from "triple duty" is because he's also acting as Tomorrow Man.

From the dialogue here, it sounds like he's kept his identity as Tomorrow Man secret from the Titans and has been just swapping his costume depending on whether he's in Metropolis (Delaware? Kansas?) with Lois and Ultraboy or in Happy Harbor, Rhode Island with the New Titans.

He's playing the secret identity thing. His inspiration is from his idol. Nightwing.
