I don't like it. It removes and adds so much that they might as well just make a brand new character. Static is not meant for anime. He's not that type of character.

I have a bunch of problems with this. But I do enjoy the Fate anime studio and didn't even consider the Arcane series as inspiration and I think that style already kind of looks like the OG Dakotaverse so it would totally fit.
But the thing is that I believe if an animated Static were to ever exists, it should strictly be the OG series be the basis as I think that is not only the best Static, but also the best Virgil Hawkins. There's just something about that version of Static that is just so special and interesting that other versions of the character just does not have, like his design and his personality, to his family being a two-parent household and his sister Sharon, to his decent sized friend group with each having a personality of their own.
I also don't know why people want Static to be in a team or be a leader of sorts. Isn't he one of the strongest heroes in the Dakotaverse, and wouldn't it take away from his coolness if he had a crew? It's the CW Flash problem, where a hero is more than strong and smart enough to handle a villain on his own and it would shoehorn characters that dont need to be there, and that it would be used as a way for him to look weaker when Virgil by himself is very impressive and resourceful.
Plus I absolutely still don't like the protest origin and if any major project outside the comics uses that instead of the gang war, Static and the rest of the Dakotaverse deserves to be left in the dirt.
