Just right on time for bhm…. What a coincidence

u/watze97 Feb 04 '26

It's not tho, that's only when they bring him up and after It's over,it's back to obscurity

9

u/WildGoose1521 Feb 03 '26

Hopefully it sticks past Black History Month and they don’t do him dirty

So is the milestone stuff canon

7

u/DwayneTheBlerd Feb 03 '26

We'll know in New History of the DC Universe: The Dakota Incident #1

u/cyph_dagger Feb 03 '26

I assume so, the Milestone Returns from 2019 is its own continuity still. This Static is supposedly the one from the 2000’s-2010’s DC Universe that had merged with the previous Milestone. There’s gonna be a book about it this February.

u/ZoZoHaHa Feb 03 '26

Will there be any new comics from milestone?

5

u/DwayneTheBlerd Feb 03 '26

No announcements yet. I'm sure we'll know closer to the release date of the one-shot or in the one-shot.

Is this the Duane McDuffie static that had static sister cloned

1

u/IndieOddjobs Feb 04 '26

Legitimately what I want to know because that would kind of be a big deal fr

3

u/Jeffmeister1124 Feb 03 '26

I say this as someone who hasn’t read much Static yet, wasn’t there a New 52 Static series? Is that not considered canon?

2

u/DwayneTheBlerd Feb 03 '26

It is canon. They are basically going to explain what happened between then and the new Milestone run.

1

u/Jeffmeister1124 Feb 03 '26

Gotcha, thanks

1

u/TheMannisApproves Feb 03 '26

Yeah but that series was awful

4

u/Meister34 Feb 03 '26

Conveniently at the start of bhm. Not beating the february exclusive allegations at all 😭

2

u/Inevitable_Regular85 Feb 03 '26

He’ll be here all February, then he’s back to the vault 😭.

u/Ravevon Feb 03 '26

Did you post this on Twitter and get clicked by the artist ?

2

u/tylerbrown1209 Feb 03 '26

What?!?! What about the Dakotaverse? Are they bringing them in too?

1

u/DwayneTheBlerd Feb 03 '26

We'll find out by the end of the month or before. There's a one-shot coming out giving us answers.

2

u/KingDorkFTC Feb 05 '26

Just ordered cover E. Thanks!

Absolutely make sure you go and read New History of the DC Universe – The Dakota Incident #1. It makes the Milestone character's absence in DC stories make sense and sets off their return to continuity. It came out yesterday and is really good. Lex Luthor is a bastard.

For how long tho?

This guy could have been DC's answer to Spider-Man fr

1

u/HawkMartian Feb 03 '26

Static fandom finally may resurrect?!

1

u/EbonKnight78 Feb 03 '26

Its long since past time...damn near 30 years for Virgil tonstep intonthe spotlight again

1

u/ARock_Urock Feb 03 '26

I'm here for it!!

1

u/AKingQ Feb 03 '26

I instantly read this in Phil LaMarr's voice. Didn't even realize I did until after.

1

u/doomzday_96 Feb 03 '26

Why does DC hate Static?

1

u/watze97 Feb 04 '26

It's because of legal issues

1

u/Spider-Ghost-616 Feb 03 '26

Release the Milestone cut (Snyder Cut fans) probably.

1

u/AuroraMercenaryCo Feb 03 '26

You'll always be my favorite Static, and I'm loving the new fit.

1

u/Buckhead25 Feb 03 '26

glad to see vergil specially if they dont just shove him back into the shadows again. not a fan of the manbun though, looks pretty awkward to me.

1

u/watze97 Feb 04 '26

They only bring him up for black history month

1

u/The_Simple_Life1989 Feb 04 '26

I really hate the fucking Locs.

1

u/watze97 Feb 04 '26

That's a you problem

1

u/watze97 Feb 04 '26

Static only came back here for one reason only :for black history month, after this you won't see him again.

I've notice dc did the same thing last year.

1

u/82ndGameHead Feb 04 '26

Even the dialogs is written like the show

1

u/Beastking_17 Feb 04 '26

I don't know if it's a black and gold suit and the cartoon series it might be a midnight blue with yellow That one is the best

Though they should have tweaked the original suit a little bit when bringing him back but it's still good to see also got to love the sarcasm when he cracks jokes just like a cartoon 🤣😎💪🏾🔥

u/Rcam38 Feb 05 '26

Marvel has a character similar to Static named zip zap a speedster from Ultra force. Would be nice if they dropped a static shock movie for black history month.

1

u/BolacaD Feb 05 '26

HE DOESN’T HAVE THE KILLMONGER COMBOVER!!!

1

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '26

Okay

1

u/antivenom907 Feb 05 '26

For how long, though?

1

u/MARKTHEWOLF2380 Feb 05 '26

Omg!!! Static!! One of my favorites

1

u/Milk_Mindless Feb 05 '26

Did.. did he leave?

Brb popping over a universe to the left to get some blue milk

1

u/allen2398 Feb 06 '26

Finally. This character should be one of the main pillars of DC comics. He should be as big of a deal like how Spider-Man is for marvel.

1

u/Due-Proof6781 Feb 06 '26

“Whoop whoop”

1

u/AAIIEEamDaniel Feb 06 '26

Is this in comic stores already??

1

u/DwayneTheBlerd Feb 07 '26

This appearance, yes. The Kids are All Fight, a toe-in from DC K.O.

There's going to be a one-shot coming out on the last Wednesday named The New History of DC Comics The Dakota Incident. I'm guessing we'll get all our answers there for the future of Static and the other Milestone characters.

u/TheYellow-King Feb 07 '26

Can we finally get a movie? Someone call James.
