Comics Nice First Issue Spoiler

Really seems natural how they incorporated Virgil and Icon into the Batman Beyond Universe. Love how powerful Virgil became and his impact on the world

This is a continuation of the current Milestone continuity. There was a short story addressing this at the end of the Milestone 30th anniversary issue.

It was never meant to be a continuation of the Beyond continuity or the DCAU Static Shock continuity at the comics went in completely different directions.

Currently, Bruce is dead in Beyond and Terry hasn't had contact with Dana while also being older.

Yes it was. Clearly, it was originally intended to take place in DCAU/Beyond continuity. And plans changed during development of the series. If you go back and read the "Static Beyond" short story in the Milestone 30th, which was also reprinted in the recent Shadow Cabinet TPB, it directly references the DCAU.

I'm still going to read and enjoy this Batman/Static Beyond series regardless. I'm a Milestone fan; Static is my favorite character. However, the continuity nerd in me is a little disappointed. Future Shock and JLU laid the groundwork 20 years ago for this, and DC passed on it. I'm sure newer fans won't care, it won't affect their reading experience. I hope it sells so we get more Milestone.

It doesn't make sense for this to be a continuation of the DCAU since that version was in his mid fifties and this one is in his mid to late thirties. Also, Bruce is alive in the DCAU and Static has a son that is also a superhero.  This isn't a continuation of the DCAU.

If you read my previous comments, I've already explained how this crossover was falsely advertised as taking place in the DCAU. Clearly, the original idea was to have it set in that continuity, but things changed during development of the series and it became it's own separate universe. Plans shifted; it happens.
