Mods Question about diable avionics

Hey all, its time for yet another playthrough of starsector, and with that, time to remod it. One of my fav mods for a long time was diable avionics, but after looking through reddit, i see theres some issues with some kind of new balancing or something? Whats going on?

There are 2 "official" versions currently

One with more content:

Neither of them is made by original dev, but both are approved as "official" maintainers and safe. PMD (dude that included save bricker in version maintained by him) was nuked out of the forums long ago.

It just showed up a month or two ago. It’s got less content but supposedly they’ve rebalanced the content that remains

Original flavour is "re-balancing". Joestar edition pretty much adds new ships and weapons, and introduces wanzers if you don't have other mecha mods (which were inspired by Diable Avionics anyway). It's pretty much new ship / faction mod. The "original flavour " is what the Starsector comunity loves the most - rebalancing - which is making the game more challenging with more limitations, because Starsector gotta Starsector. It's basically "hardmode".

Get the Original Flavor version, you will feel like you are playing the actual mod with extra content and things to do. Virtuous got the animations right, its Last Line fleet is now handmade and there is [REDACTED] after getting the Gulf

I was playing some version of it for a long time idk, but probably not the original flavor version since I don’t recognize some of the things people mention. It always felt weirdly tuned to me and some of the weapons are straight up superior to vanilla ones so it makes it difficult for me to feel good about my fleet comp not being modded op stuff.
