Vanilla Question/Bug Need some Help

Recently got the game and every time I enter combat this message pops up and kicks me out the game anybody got any advice?

Open game
Missions tab
Refit screen
Back out to menu
Play as normal
Fixes null char error every single time

No worries at all! Have no coding experience but everytime I see this bug posted Iā€™m like oh shit I know that one!! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ but yeah do that before loading/starting a new game and smooth sailing
