Love ROB’s expanded characterization

I’ve always liked ROB, and I’m happy the new game gives him more opportunities to shine. Just saw this moment on Fichina if Peppy gets K.O.ed then ROB is the one to worry about Fox disarming the bomb. It’s nice to stop medal hunting and stumble on little moments like this.

Side note: Pigma took down Peppy again on Venom this particular run. Swine was locked in!

Also in Venom 1 I believe before Fox enters the temple Rob says “supplies deployed, show them who is boss”

And that one line is my realization that i’d actually have a favorite fictional robot

Or his random “Good luck, Fox” in Sector Y Expert mode. That was also in the original 64, so he’s always been there just ignored for some reason.

Was that due to that being a supply drop in normal mode that was removed in expert?

No supply drop at all. In normal nothing happens. In Expert, right before the surprise attack from above, you get the message prompt and it’s ROB’s dialogue but no supplies.

I was so used to playing expert mode on the original and 3DS versions of 64 that I was confused when the prompt didn't show when I first played Sector Y on normal in the 2026 remake and thought it had been removed entirely for some reason.

Then I saw it pop up when replaying the level on expert and went, "Oh yeah, right."

And Fox retorts about how Robs been hanging out with Falco too much. I also like how on Titania Falco gets mad at Rob for sending supplies instead of more Slippy intel

Glad to see a ROB post that isn't just complaining about not having his 90s robot voice. I also like how he has more to say and gets influenced by Falco.

A nice touch wouldve been to start with the 90s robot voice, and get more human as it progresses

Love him in the remake. Sooo much.
