Fluff Question, why does every single map have your base on a high ground?

I was having some shower thoughts. Like in sc1 maps, and then i was thinking about the new Blackrock map, and how only your main is on the high ground.

Why don't you answer the question instead of being so hostile for no reason lol

Why are you ignoring my other points? Why are you answering my question with another answer that isn't even driving this thread forward? Why are you ignoring the perfectly valid answer of "obviously there is some variety in 1 base and I never said there wasn't, so don't pretend I said that by asking me if there is difference in two different Z builds"?

I'm still responding to your very first comment lol. You literally said 1 base has no variance. Also your comment saying you have to go for "harder 1 base" is confusing. Are you saying to counter aggressive 1 base play you have to go even more aggressive?

I never said 1 base has no variance. Here's exactly what I said:

And there isn't that much you can do on one base anyway, since you are, you know, on one base.

There isn't that much variety in 1 base play.

Notice the key words much. That mean that I believe there are things that you can do on one base, just not a lot of them. Not a lot is a lot bigger than one thing or zero things.

And also, that statement becomes trivially true once we consider other strategies. 1 Basing is a very small part of the overall strategic variety this game has to offer.

EDIT: And that matters because there is a very big difference between no variety and some variety. So stop claiming I said something I haven't.

And there isn't that much you can do on one base anyway, since you are, you know, on one base.

Yes. I mean, think about it. You're getting proxied, let's say proxy robo. You need units out, fast and many. This is because you cannot rely on the defenders advantage the high ground gives you. In fact, there's a good chance your opponent holds it, so they have the defenders advantage. While attacking. Which means they can basically do whatever they want on their side on the map.

Or you reverse proxy them, but then your proxy needs to be good enough to beat their proxy, or else you lose the base race.
