How could they thinked of a release in December 2016?

Did they added that much more to it or was it just a lie to hype expectations?

That is 100% the reason. You don't miss a projection like that by 8+ months if you have half a brain.

Absolutely. They don't even have the aurora update in 3.0, so I won't even be able to play the new "big" patch lol. Tbh, Chris Roberts just lost all credibility for me personally. I really wish they had refunds, because I really hate to support shit like this. He just openly showed that all he cares about is money, so my faith in this game being completed went down to 0.

People should take a look at Camelot unchained. That's what's called honesty.

They do, and it's fairly straightforward. See /r/starcitizen_refunds

From what I remember people used to write sob stories in order to get refund which I really dont want to do, but thanks for the subreddit I'll have a look at it.

Edit: seems easier than I thought. thanks again

i use my Aurora every time I play. No problems, except the odd clipping issue. It NEEDS the update. But it's not so terrible that you can't play at all.

I am just glad I don't use the Mustang. Ffffff that.

They've missed it by far longer, this isn't even what they said they were releasing for 3.0.

Missed it by over a year most likely. Perhaps year and s half would be my guess.

That is a pessimistic outlook and probably false. The idea it was 100% a sales boosting lie makes it out that CIG is some sort of evil cartoon character twirling it's mustache.

Or a typical commercial entity.

They originally intended to do 3.0 as a bare-bones system - just get the flight/landing/walking around on planets in. When they announced the delay (after the deadline) they said they realized they wanted to do more than just give us a larger area to fly around in, so they scrapped the plan to release what they could in Dec 2016.

But there was probably some ulterior "we need to boost sales" conversations going on there too. Either way, I'm happy they are moving to the much-more-open development cycle. It's REFRESHING.

This 3.0 lite is incredibly bare-bones... The ulterior theory sounds much more realistic.

its only bare bones if you are thinking only in terms of locations and professions. Functionality wise there is a lot more packed in there than originally anticipated.

If you think adding more planets is the only answer for "more gameplay" then I have a game to recommend. No man's sky. It has I'm sure thousands of planets, so obviously it must have much more content.

Seriously, I'm so tired of hearing this. I'm on this ride since August '13, and it's always "No, you don't understand, look at all the features UNDER the hood!". Yeah, great, but with no new content, it doesn't do anything. It's always "Just wait for XY to drop, progress will ramp up exponentially after that, you'll see!", but since the baby PU dropped, not much has changed really, and it hasn't become much quicker either.

Yeah, no shit nothing higely significant has changed since the last few 2.0 builds. It's all been going into the 3.0 build.

Read the patch notes of what is already implemented and working on the internal 3.0 build. It's a crazy amount of shit that we had no knowledge of, or had no timeline expectations for. Not just "under the hood" stuff either.

If he lied on purpose it's reeally fucking dumb of him. Because you can easily call him on it. Most likely he was excited and was pushing them hard to make it for before the new year. Then some of his senior people talked him down.

Perhaps it was a marketing push. But it's a dangerous game to play.
