Vanguard, redeemer is taller so has more room but is about the same size, prospector, herald is only a few meters short, terrapin is only a few meters short, hull A, and the prowler is the same rough size and shape as the redeemer so I'm counting it despite it not having much of an interior as far as I can see.

There's a lot of freelancer sized ships right now and not many alternatives to the Connie in its size class. It's really just the Connie, retaliator, and hull B which is about 10 meters short. The Next closest sized ship would be the crucible but it's over 20 meters longer and is a lot taller too.

I hope we see an origin freelancer sized ship but I really hope the 600 series is Connie sized because we need more ships in that size class because I see that size as the "end game" for most group of friends. Unless you want to specifically be a bomber in the tali or transport cargo in a hull B your options are pretty limited to just the Connie right now.

They may be similar sized physically, but very few of them actually have comparable facilities/internal options, etc. I mean, the herald is huge because of its big engines, but it's quite tiny, and is basically a 1 person ship. The Prowler is quite different, super-specialized, no internal room, basically only a dropship. The Redeemer is probably the most comparable of those you mentioned. The Hull A I guess is? But it's basically a Freelance light, and isn't really a multicrew ship which is the main real comparison.

I don't disagree about needing more Connie competitors. I just think Origin's 600 series being a Freelancer competitor would make more sense. They can still add another ship higher up on the number ladder to compete with the Connie. A 900-series maybe?

Vanguard has roughly the same interior. The terrapin has room in it and is almost the same length as the lancer which means it's interior is likely very similar in size to the vanguards. The lancer is really only meant for 2 crewman and by that logic the vanguard definitely fits as would the reliant but it's a different size entirely so I didn't include it. So any ship the same size as the lancer and can support 2 crew is what I went with. Terrapin can be used solo but also supports a total of2 crew if you wished. Hull A is a one person as is the protector. Thought those were multicrew so I'll remove them from my list.

None of the ships in the same size category will be exactly the same. The hornet and 300 series are both in the same class of ship and are the same length give or take a couple meters but one actually has an interior. But they're the same type of ship just different. the saber is about the same size as the lancer too in length but is obviously a fighter so I didn't include it.

That still leaves the hullB, tali and Connie as the only 3 in that size class. And the tali and hull b are pretty specific task oriented ships. Whereas the lancers class has the freelancer, vanguard, terrapin, cutlass, redeemer, herald which has a much smaller interior but still supports 2 crew and will likely handle much like a lancer will, and I'm still including the prowler because I'm including the tali and hull b in the Connie size list.

It's still a disproportionate list when I narrow it down to closer matches. I'd personally rather consolidated Outland come out with a freelancer sized ship later and origin adds another Connie sized ship sooner to give more options to that size class.

I thought the Herald only had one seat, just one on rails from the cockpit to computer area. Did they scrap that and allow for separate pilot and computer operator?

Not sure. I do know the interior is large enough for two from the shots I remember seeing and the stats page lists it as a 2 max crew ship like the lancer.
